Bram Stoker's Dracula was based partly on the legends about Countess Elizabeth Báthory, sometimes called The Blood Countess and Countess Dracula. She had an estate in Transylvania. Talk about a real sweetheart! The legends say that she bathed in the blood of her victims to preserve her youth.

Guinness
has her listed as the most prolific female murderer in history. She was also fighting the Muslim invasion of Hungary, but her "alleged" murders had nothing to do with the war. Some people believe, however, that the legends were manufactured in a conspiracy against her.

Leaving aside the horrible nature of this incident, the excuses you list have been used by men of pretty much every religious/political persuasion and none, in Europe and everywhere else, to explain why they raped women, and they've often worked with the judges. Funny old world, isn't it, when Christians, Muslims, democrats, Jews, socialists, republicans, Hindus, atheists, etc. can have so much in common.

Re your LGBTQ question... no, it really doesn't ☺

Wow.

OK, anyone have any guesses as to the perp? My #1 guess: muslims. #2: druggie.

Maybe we should ask some liberals to defend this guy? Can they blame the dog for giving the guy 'a look'. Maybe she 'asked for it'. Maybe he didn't know this was illegal? All of these excuses have been used by muslims in Europe to explain why they raped women, and they've worked with the judges! How much worse to rape a woman than raping a dog?

BTW, doesn't the LGBTQ... group have 'bestiality' as one of their categories?

History isn't perfect man isn't perfect... what can these groups have so much in common? there are nothing I have in common with socialist nor muslims other than we breathe the same air, your forgot to add communist to the list.. and I have same feeling about them as I do socialist.

Thats all very interesting about Vlad but I saw something last night that was truly horrible; obuma was on TV! I thought that I'd never have see his ugly mug or hear that nasty voice of his again! The only thing that might have made it worse is if Mochelle was with him.

Some woman just tweeted that I didn't want Universal Healthcare because I am so blinded by my hate for Obama.

I told her that I disagree with his policies, but don't hate him

The side that is always preaching about hate is the side that uses the word and shows the actions the most.

My point was that women around the world have little more to fear in terms of rape from Muslim men than from any other men. Oh, Imissed out loads: communist, agnostic, fundamentalist Christian, white men, animists, men of colour... too many to list them all.

I find it hard to believe that you have no family, no friends, no beliefs, no hopes or fears or loves, no favourite foods, no regrets, no plans for tomorrow, no insecurities, no urge to create, no urge to help someone up when they fall in the street or ambivalence about watching someone get bullied. I read your statement and thought of this wee clip: . To me, finding our shared humanity, letting go of our isolations and fears are part of preparing to avert and/or survive catastrophe ☺

Don't turn on your tv, he's coming back on.

Yeah. I figured the Left would keep parading their No1 hater around until the mid terms. obumer is like a bad rash that just won't go away. Fortunately I record much more important things to watch on TV, like Tom and Jerry, so I don't have watch this no class bum.

Nothing in my post alluded to me not having friends, faith and family. My friends are selective by choice and like minded, diffidently will not befriend a socialist or communist under any circumstances so as far as the 'coexist' thing go, it may have it's place but very limited and with reservation, my family (Wife, Kids and grandkids) are on my property and we all strive to self sufficiency, my background is fairly well known here by what I have already posted on this forum in the past. I served in too many countries to have any faith in humanity and very much trust my instincts which have served me well in the Americas and Africa. I have very little fears for me personally I also chose to live away from people given I have very little trust in man and government for that matter, no problem with limited isolation as long as one is prepared. My Wife is a professional woman as will as my kids.. me on the other hand.. I'm old and broken that set on my ways, doesn't mean I'm right but it doesn't mean I'm wrong, I have an ideology difference with half the nation and most of the world, I don't believe in the collective unit but I do in individualism, those two realms can't coexist maybe in utopia but then again there is no individualism in the land of utopia and quite frankly utopia sounds like a g'damn boring place.

Simply by dint of being human, you - all of us - have many things in common with pretty much everyone else. I'm far more socialist than not, yet you and I share a care for family and friends, an interest in prepping (though, it seems, for different reasons and scenarios), being okay with 'limited isolation as long as one is prepared', and a suspicion that utopia would be dull as ditch-water! I won't press this further, but nice to meet you ☺

Jeesh, this has strayed a long way from a sickening attack on a pup.

We all have our opinions and lifestyles. All I can say is it’s a good thing as the world would be an awfully boring place if everyone was perfect like me ! Seriously, it is good to have diverse ideas and ways of living our lives. I do think the blind hatred of everything the ‘other side’ does is counter productive at best. What’s right for me isn’t necessarily right for anyone else, and that’s ok. I do draw the line when someone starts telling me I have to believe the same way as they do though. I think we all should have compassion for others and help out when it’s needed, and not just close our hearts to others suffering. I also don’t believe in endless generational welfare/handouts, so my point here is everything involves compromise. The country would be able to do so much more if everyone could get over the partisan crap and learn to work together, somewhere down the middle line. I have no use for the extremists from either side, but have always tried to work with anyone that’s open to moderation and common sense.

Other than changing 'the country' to 'the world' and pointing out that the most useful/beneficial/whatever point between two extremes is not necessarily down the middle, I agree with you ☺

Meeting in the middle does nothing. It means both sides are wrong. I say 2+2=4, you say 2+2=5 we compromise and say 2+2=4.5 no that does not work.
I disagree. Meeting in the middle is the only right and fair way to be just to all. No one single person or side deserves to be solely in charge. The first step is to throw out the extreme views from both sides. That leaves you with more sensible and realistic ideas. Then it’s just a measure of compromise to get a consensus that’s fair to all. The whole point of democracy is to let the people decide what’s best, not a single leader that forces their ideas on everyone. That would be communism.

The left doesn't meet in the middle. Oh they might say they want to compromise, but their compromise is "Let us have what we want now and then in the future will let you have what you want." They of course renege and then move the goal post and want a new "compromise."

I can't believe how many times the Republicans fell for this ruse. It's like Charlie Brown and Lucy and the football.

Brent,

Ok, let's see how that approach works. Let's pretend I want to kill you. And you don't want to die. So... the compromise, I just break 10 of your bones & stab you twice?

Compromise can sometimes work. If you want 2 kids, your wife wants 4, you compromise to 3 kids. Other times there is no ability to compromise. My example above. Another 'not extremist' compromise: I want a Linux computer, wife wants a Mac. So we compromise to a Windows system?

But back to this topic. The US has had the greatest success in world history as a nation the first 150-200 years as a capitalist, Christian nation. The past 50 years moving toward socialism has been the worst period in our nation's history. When Europe was capitalist, they did well. The past 50 years moving quickly toward socialism hasn't been good. Or other examples: Venezuela, USSR, Vietnam, Cuba. The problem with Socialism is that every example over time has resulted in failed economies and collapsed gov'ts. No exception. There is no compromise between a system that works and one that doesn't work... the only result will be a failed one.
