Starting Again.

So in another thread I have mentioned I'm moving. Well, yesterday all my belongings and my son moved to our new residence and the Cat and me are moving today.
Because of the situation our stores are pretty much exhausted so I will be starting from scratch with everything.
So while I'm offline (internet won't be connected for a week or so) here's a little fun question. Given that I'm moving to the north of the country and it's rented accommodation, what would you do differently a second time round?

If it's prepping related, find a place with a good water source. If it's an emergency, like it seems to be for you right now, then find whatever accommodations you can for the moment. You can always take a little time to get grounded and then make another move heading towards where you want to be down the road. Just always em ember, tomorrow is another day to start again.

Move to Co Durham because its the cheapest place to live in the UK, rents as love as £300 a month, new houses to buy from £90K, its clean, green, plenty of countryside low crime and lots of preppers

Well, I'm moved! The area we have movd to is pretty nice, the neighbours seem OK and there are some pretty enterprising kids in the neighbourhood. 2 of them had their own trampoline set up on the green and were charging the other kids 20p a go! Oh that made me chuckle.
Anyhoo, busy unpacking and jobhunting, so I will be flitting about.

Storage shed. So no matter where you move, you have a place with things you can use.

It's a new start and new beginning for you and family. . . Look at it as a clean slate!! Not sure of circumstances of what made you move and why stores are cleaned out. For me. I have around a years worth of food IF I ever had to leave and move to another location. That is one of my main concerns, the food and how to grow & raise it. On rental property a garden shouldn't be a bad thing that the owners would object too. If you started raising your own meat, if not small like chickens or rabbits, you may have a problem. We do have two rent houses and one is a close neighbor friend. He has raised goats, pigs, chickens and put in a garden and we never objected to it. Just an FYI pigs root and goats eat bark off trees.

what would you do differently a second time round?

limit my self to certain store bought foods id buy.like canned foods,refrigerated/frozen foods,to other foods.less sweets.more canning supplies and idea foods for canning.start building shelves n cabinets.or go with store bought,if either is needed.start getting garden area ready for nest year,even if it means putting clippings on it to keep grass n weeds from coming back.maybe stop at more yard/garage sales n other idea places,when i have the money..

The storecupboard is just about empty so I am starting again. ATM it will be store bought food as I have no veg garden this year (maybe next year) We have even gone through all the chicken and beef I canned. I have about 3 years worth of years worth of canning lids and enough jars. I will make red kraut in a few weeks, we always go through a lot of it and I will try Carolina Coleslaw this year as well.
The one good thing that has come out of this is that all the food stores are now gone and I can start afresh knowing in advance all the pitfalls and problems.
