So the 2 crewmembers stuck in space because of a massive failure of NASA and Boeing, will be potentially stuck until early 2025!!

I find it inconceivable that this is happening.

Why is there no "rescue" craft at the ready at all times??? BIG NASA FAILURE!

Why is it that Boeing is once again front and center of controversy regarding their products? It seems as if Boeing is incapable of building a safe reliable product.

My first thought was that Boeing is the victim of DEI. But it appears it is not DEI, it's just plain incompetence at all levels. Apparently Boeing is incapable of designing, building, and maintaining their products. Clearly their engineering, assembly, and maintenance is woefully lacking.

The only question is, how many will lose their jobs at Boeing, (if any)!!?

My dad "built" the Apollo craft. Actually the instrumentation. Some was right out of Radio Shack - the toggle switches and such. They were very simple craft. Today's workers can't even keep a spaceship running long enough to reach the station.

Now we find out their space suits aren't even compatible.

I assume they are "preppers" up on the station, and have some extra MRE's stashed.

And then Musk is going to have to go rescue them, probably himself, and we'll never hear the end of it.

All joking aside, this is very, very serious, and people may die before this is over. :(

A pretty incredible adventure..I do hope a solution can be found. I wonder if they have those high altitude parachutes on board. I know they are too high right now but even if their craft could get them low enough to utilize them they could make a historic jump.

My brother , during his Navy time as a master parachutest was part of a team to help figure out some kind of rapid egress deployable chute for astronauts to use to escape a high altitude emergency.

Not sure if they ever got one figured out that was any different than the ones they already use..but he had fun in Florida.

Very  My Father (not my 'Stepdad' - my Father - whom I sadly never got to know as he was killed when I was ~1.5, on his 'Indian' by some drunk old 🤬..) worked at Harris Corp way-back, and designed / engineered 'wiring harness I/O boards' that were later used in some of the Apollo Missions. Guess that's Why I grew up with a screwdriver in my hand... 🤓

Anyhoo, will be keen to watch this develop / see what Musk, et al can come up with.. (and, no Doubt a 'movie script' is already being Planned.. )

Boeing and NASA are a good metaphor for the USA now.

Once they were the best at what they did and achieved big milestones in human history........now they are an incompetent, dangerous joke........just waiting for the final humiliation that will sink them forever.

.....well that is my most depressing post for quite a while......but it is true.....and if ever there was a reason to actually get prepared, this is one of them.

I read yet another story this week hinting that the US has technology gleaned from crashed alien spacecraft......which is an interesting fantasy.....especially in the context of the clear/real inability to get US astronauts back from a primitive station in low earth orbit.......even with months to work on it.

I would be sending a message to NASA and Boeing on their private line letting them know when I was back on Earth, my bank account had better be FLUSH with money or I will be hitting the talk show circuit with gusto. Of course then I would just have an accident and my final words would be falsely reported as "Trump... Killed... Me...".

My dad worked for NASA for 30 years and did a lot of work on the Apollo program.
Some of the systems he designed are still used today. :)

..and here 'Millennials', et al think the 'Boomers' are just old, useless lumps found only at Waffle Houses / Golden Corrals and Walmarts.. ..but Dang Straight that None of them would have their little 'iWhatevers' to bury thier Zommie little heads in - if it Weren't for the 'Boomers' who contributed to / were part of the Apollo-push. Thus.. "Thanks, Dad".. 🤓

(I still wonder who took his picture...)

I'm sure He did. 🤔 I'd bet, ie:

..or a Similar-type 'lightweight, assembleable in place' solution, with an 'indexed' / keyed Mount (on the Top of his Pod, there) designed such that when he popped the whole assembly 'in place' - it would be Impossible for it to 'point Anywhere Else' but At him / in that spot.

..And, with Today's 'Featherweight 4K'ers, ie: https://www.bestbuy.com/site/dji-os...-standard-bundle-gray/6546636.p?skuId=6546636 ..it'd be a Cinch to capture that 'by himself' (they've got Bluetooth 'remotes' to actuate, etc..) Thus, I bet him taking that 'selfie' was actually a...

..Snap. :) Sorry, just had to. 🤓

Hey, at least we're not asking Russia or China for help getting our astronauts back. It's great that Musk was able to create SpaceX. Just something to think about.
