My whole issue is that I ordered a 50/50 mix of stove oil and treated winter diesel to be delivered by the end of September. For some reason the (new) delivery driver decided that was too early for winter diesel, so he delivered untreated summer diesel. I ordered it early because anytime after October 1st we can get rain, cold or snow making it difficult getting the fuel truck up to our place.
I think I'm getting quality fuel, plus I have 5 filters and water separators between the tanks and the generator. Since my tanks were all full I had to drain some diesel out to make room for the stove oil. I think I need another 55 gallons of stove oil to bring it up to a 50/50 mix. Early this morning I had to go up and babysit the generator again to keep it running. I find it really infuriating that the damn truck driver took it upon himself to change my order. This has cost me a lot of unnecessary work and loss of sleep.
how about a couple of gallons of fuel conditioner and then circulate the fuel, you shouldn't be waxing off yet, unless it is a lot colder there than here. I always assume my stored fuel is summer and mix conditioner accordingly

I don't have any problem with my tractor until it gets down to single didgets on regular treated diesel. But for some reason the Perkins generator is very sensitive to below freezing temps. I added some fuel additive to the small (55 gallon) day tank, didn't really help. Yesterday I added about 20 gallons of stove oil to the day tank and the generator is running good now. I don't understand why this generator is such a problem. I think next year I'll replace the Perkins with a Winco propane generator.
So far our lowest temps have only been in the teens.

Got the septic tank dug up and the drain cleared. It's snowing pretty steady out, and it's already covered the brown lake in our driveway. I'll try to get a plumber out tomorrow to check out our system.
Got the foundation beams down and started putting up the posts on my new blacksmith shop. Should be able to get the top beams up today too. It might be a week or so before I can build the trusses and get the roof sheeting up. I can frame in between the posts and put the 1×12" siding on though.

perhaps your lift pump is weak, or the return line (rotary injection pump) is restricted, this will cause a governor drop out, and in a generator, prolly a stall.

Still down to the last 4 horses from church this morning, and I won't dare let the pup have free rein till they're all gone. Counted 27 on our property this morning. Pup is on a long lead in the front yard, and has been inside a couple of times to nap and snuggle. Doing some cleanout and ready to work on kitchen backsplash again.

Dinner leftovers --- chicken - coleslaw - gouda cheese
After : Earl Grey black tea with cardamom and honey

I went for a short walk on the dark road with my flashlight
Big moon ...and total silence :)

got everything done I planned on today, cookies are so so but then I took Otto for a hike and got about 1\8 of a mile and my heart started racing. Wow, that hasn't happened since last time I had a panic attack some years ago. But I did not have a panic attack, it just happened. Probably same problem my dad has ( arythmeia?) . I sat down on the trail and waited a few minutes and it went away. I have had my heart checked many times ( last time this spring after I got sick and went to hospital) and they never find anything
How annoying....maybe I had too much lasagna for lunch
So now I am having a glass of wine

I made husband and son promise to take care of the animals if I drop dead

I have an " up on my death" folder for Hubby in case.....! I really do need to outlive him! I'd be dead and have to worry things weren't getting done properly!!😮

Well more washing of stuff. I have most of my jars in wooden crates since cardboard disintegrates when it floods. Well wood absorbs smoke in a fire. So after I scrub the crates and they dry, I am putting a coat of stain/sealer on them. They do look nicer but more time consuming. I managed to get 4 stained, two are refilled, two are drying and have two more ready to go. I also have to wash the stuff (jars) in the crates so it’s a rotation. I did get 1 of the lights scrubbed so there’s a little less of that 60s smoker vibe out there. Will continue tomorrow.
Went to church which was good.
Raining and windy. Chilly too.

RIP... Found out today I lost my best friend, like a big brother Gerald late last summer.. Lost him to health problems starting with ..US agent orange.. heart, and other accumulated health issues.. We had many ..adventures.. being one and anothers ..wing man.. no matter the mission.. I hated him as far as dealing with women went, at least until I finely moved away.. He was always tall, dark, handsome and good at everything he ever touched or tried.. I couldn't talk to a woman or get a date without them asking ..what is your brother up to now??.. He, I, and another friend, Marlo were the ..3 Amigos.. or holy terrors as you wish of the local sports club. Marlo was a fantastic wing shooter, Gerald was phenomenal with a rifle, luckily I was better than both with a hand gun..

Unfortunately we haven't communicated well for the last couple years or so.. That happens.. Rest easy big guy.. Going to miss you.. Don't hesitate to reach out to those close or important to you.. Keep safe..

Worked outside in the cold, snow and wind all day. Sitting next to the wood stove I'm finally getting warm, but feel like I'm coming down with something. Unless there's an emergency tomorrow I'm going to try and stay inside as much as possible.
