My whole issue is that I ordered a 50/50 mix of stove oil and treated winter diesel to be delivered by the end of September. For some reason the (new) delivery driver decided that was too early for winter diesel, so he delivered untreated summer diesel. I ordered it early because anytime after October 1st we can get rain, cold or snow making it difficult getting the fuel truck up to our place.
I think I'm getting quality fuel, plus I have 5 filters and water separators between the tanks and the generator. Since my tanks were all full I had to drain some diesel out to make room for the stove oil. I think I need another 55 gallons of stove oil to bring it up to a 50/50 mix. Early this morning I had to go up and babysit the generator again to keep it running. I find it really infuriating that the damn truck driver took it upon himself to change my order. This has cost me a lot of unnecessary work and loss of sleep.
how about a couple of gallons of fuel conditioner and then circulate the fuel, you shouldn't be waxing off yet, unless it is a lot colder there than here. I always assume my stored fuel is summer and mix conditioner accordingly

I don't have any problem with my tractor until it gets down to single didgets on regular treated diesel. But for some reason the Perkins generator is very sensitive to below freezing temps. I added some fuel additive to the small (55 gallon) day tank, didn't really help. Yesterday I added about 20 gallons of stove oil to the day tank and the generator is running good now. I don't understand why this generator is such a problem. I think next year I'll replace the Perkins with a Winco propane generator.
So far our lowest temps have only been in the teens.

Got the septic tank dug up and the drain cleared. It's snowing pretty steady out, and it's already covered the brown lake in our driveway. I'll try to get a plumber out tomorrow to check out our system.
Got the foundation beams down and started putting up the posts on my new blacksmith shop. Should be able to get the top beams up today too. It might be a week or so before I can build the trusses and get the roof sheeting up. I can frame in between the posts and put the 1×12" siding on though.
