Its a terrible tragedy but the news this morning has left me with some questions.
How come the UK scrapped all its civil defence reserves such as rescue boats, blankets, tents, food stockpiles, 90 days fuel supplies, green goddess fire engines, 4x4 trucks, ladders, mobile kitchens etc as the government said it was not cost effective. BUT we apparently keep over 50,000 emergency response kits in Dubai to give to everyone else ??
