I saw a blurb on the news where a woman was taking her husbands ashes into the woods to find a nice place to scatter them. She walked for a couple hours and found a perfect meadow that she thought he would have appreciated. After saying her goodbyes, she quickly realized she couldn't remember which way the road was. She ended up being rescued six days later, but was in great shape. She didn't panic, and built a shelter out of sticks, found fresh running water to drink and ate berries and pine needles. It didn't say if she made a fire or not, but she was impressive for an average middle aged woman.
