They watch every move you make! Nothing goes unseen!!
I like fooling them. I will google women shoe site & go thought three or more pages & get adds for a month from women sites.
Sometimes I google tents or horse tack, which I would never buy online, I get them here in town.

I quit worrying about such things long ago, but Iā€™m knowledgeable enough to avoid using or buying a smart TV that operates online, my computer is old and doesnā€™t have a camera, my phone has location services turned off and I limit access to my phones resources, etcā€¦ But I donā€™t use a VPNā€¦ Iā€™ll do things like posting here without worrying. I mean if ā€˜theyā€™ donā€™t like itā€¦. thatā€™s their problem. Same goes for what I buy and where I shopā€¦. f-em if they know and donā€™t like it.

As for the addsā€¦ I accept that the site needs their $$$.

Does this mean that you do use google analytics?
I don't think websites "use" Google analytics. I believe that software is used to aid Google itself, not websites. However, Goggle may throw a small bone to the website owners to entice them to allow it. They do this because they indeed get a little something out of the deal. Probably for free. But if it were a dollar bill, I'll bet the website gets one penny of that and Google gets the remaining 99 cents. There is a reason why Google makes things like Gmail "free" for users. And it's not simply out of the goodness of their hearts. You can bet Google benefits handily for every Gmail user they enlist. Same goes for all their other "free" stuff.

We have the microphones and 'voice control' turned off on all our TV's, but...
They gotta have internet access, because when heavy rain drowns out the satellite dish, they can switch to 5G WiFi and never miss a beat. :D
Somebody may know what we are watching, but that is all... BFD.

I have a mini computer thatā€™s designated for use hooked to my non-internet TV. Itā€™s actually my newest and fastest computer, but itā€™s a very basic unit. Works great with remote mouse to view and listen to music videos (with entertainment system hooked to TV)ā€¦. News programs, Amazon movies, etcā€¦. Makes my TV essentially just a monitor then. Other than that I have an antenna for OTA TV. Thatā€™s as high-tech as I get.

We have a dumb TV, and that was hard to find.
It only is turned on for a few hours per YEAR.
And itā€™s not connected to anything other than an antenna.

We have dumb TVs and antennas! We don't watch much TV, but there are hundreds of antenna channels now! I will not pay for TV!!

As said before, if you are alive, have ever been to a doctor, used a credit card, applied for any credit, your data is already out there. The best you can do is to remain vigilant, pay close to any bank accounts, and utilize some form of credit check site. I use two. Experian Works and ID Theft. I also have a credit lock on one of the "Big 3" credit apps, so if you try to steal my identity, they will be denied and I am alerted immediately.

A quick way to help is to utilize withdrawal or deposit alerts, set them for $1, so you are informed if someone uses any credit card in your name.

About once a year, I will get notified by my credit card company, letting me know there has been a series of fraudulent uses with one of my 4 sequences of numbers, so they will swap out the complete card.

My biggest fear is someone stealing my title from my home, taking me off, and adding a fraudulent name. This is occurring more often these days, and you won't know until you sell your home. Once my house is paid off (in 5 more months), I will pay to get this title locked down.
