Every couple of years there is talk of doing away with DST. The politicians fly back and forth to neighbouring provinces and states to discuss the impact of changing vs not changing, they spend a fortune surveying the public, then the shelve the idea for a couple more years.

Washington, Oregon, California, and other states, have passed bills to stay on DST year round. Now they just need the federal government to give them permission. We can stay on standard time year round without permission but DST requires Congress to give their OK. Strange system.
My thought is just pick one and stop this nonsense of changing twice a year.
