We have posted about this before, but thought it wouldn't hurt to repeat.

A manual clock like was used when I was young. If SHTF we can't rely on batteries or even solar. An old fashioned clock and watch would be great to have.

I have a manual clock, but have misplaced it. I think my Mom has it in her rooom. Must check......,

I haven't got an awful use for timepieces post SHTF myself, I intend to get up just before dawn(I do that now), and any job will take as long as it takes-time is irrelevant in that context, and I will go to bed when it gets too dark to do anything.

Paul, I was thinking of if you needed to time something such as meds, explosives, solvents, etc.

I'm with you on getting up when it's still dark and going to bed as soon as I can after I put the chickens to roost.

I lived for 12 years off grid and although I had a clock and a watch I hardly ever looked at them, I was so intent on what I was doing.

Wind up wall clocks wrist watches and wind up alarm clocks will be good for certain situations. Cooking is one.pluss.they'll add at least a lil bit of normacy to life as well.so will the wooden calenders that you can redo for each month.

not really something i'm too bothered about, keeping time.
about the only time i'd need to check minutes passed is if i'm boiling an egg and i'll just guess that one!!I think I can cope with a runny egg!

Time is unimportant unless one has an appointment. I wake up and do what needs to be done and sleep when tired, that's my clock. Though I'm not on a payroll I guess that helps.

I have a drawer full of watches that don’t get touched anymore. The smart phone killed the watch thing for me. I think about times when camping, time just doesn’t matter much. You work with the daylight and shortly after dark it’s time to retire for the night. That is of course after a good meal, a couple beers and some time around the fire anyways.

egg timers are available, I remember my mother using one of the ones where sand spills from one side to the other when upturned.
most of my cooking will be the boiled, stewed or fried kind post SHTF. and I wont be keeping appointments.
the cheap(£6.99) watches I wear have a guaranteed battery life of 2 years and they all last much longer than this, so i'll use them until they no longer work, then do without.

Can you even buy a wind up watches any more. On a normal day I can pretty much tell what time it is but if it's overcast it throws me off.

i think you can still buy wind up watches, you can buy automatic ones too but the one I had kept stopping.
I don't worry too much about time, I have very few appointments, dentists once every 6 months that's about it.
I go somewhere and do something I've got all morning or all day so time is irrelevant .
