I looked and didn't see a travel thread so thought I'd start one; love seeing places you visit.
Just back from a short trip to Bruges, a medieval town in Belgium, so here are some photos.
It was lovely, very chilled atmosphere, with lots of photo opportunities, beer and chocolate shops. The amount of chocolate and patisseries would make your teeth ache just looking at them. Lots of restaurants but limited menus, strangely, and a bit expensive, considering I thought we lived in an expensive country.
For those of you who know the movie 'Monuments Men', we saw Michelangelo's Madonna and child which was rescued in the film, did the usual museum visits, and went to a torture museum, which was really interesting; if sad to consider what humans do to each other. Beautiful gothic architecture, which I love. I've a video of a trip on the canal, but need to convert to post it.
