First hit the drone with a squirt of that canned wasp spray (highly flammable) that shoots a long distance stream. Once it's good and wet, follow up with your roman candle.

A paintball gun aimed at the camera lens would be fun too. Watch it try to fly back home blind.

Spray adhesive. then you can gut the drone for memory cards and solar cells.

I think my drone uses GPS for its auto return to base.... but we can experiment with your drone...

Wife and I were sitting around our campfire in the yard about 2 weeks ago. It was around 2pm in the afternoon. We hear some humming and a drone flew over our front yard at tree height. We live in the middle of 40 acres and the nearest neighbor is about 1/2 mile from us. If I had my shotgun with me, would it have been legal to shoot the drone down?

I think the laws are different in different areas. This would be a good question to research to know what you can do for your area. I think in some areas, if you are a drone operator, you have to register in some capacity.

In places like Tucson, people with in ground swimming pools pay taxes, IF the tax people know that they have one. Of course, not everyone declares that they have a pool, and then they do not pay taxes on them. The city of Tucson uses drones to fly over yards to see who has swimming pools and who does not.

I have often thought that a drone is a good thing to have for many safety uses.

You can't generically shoot down anything that is over your property, otherwise 737's would be in danger. Governments should just set an altitude limit. A simple, effective, and safe limit would be "If you can reach it with a shotgun (not including slugs), it's legal to shoot it down. If you can't reach it, then you can't shoot it down." So any questions on "Was the altitude it was flying at low enough to qualify?" are answered right there on the spot. No regulators or lawyers would be needed.

What is a drone?

Both have rules for their use, good luck finding a government entity interested in enforcing them, unless you poked the bear.

maybe a fly casting rod with a coupe of trebel hooks and some weight...
What are those things that South American cowboys throw to grab their cattle? Do they call them "bolos"? It's like a three-way star made out of short lengths of rope with rocks ties to the outside ends. Meant to tangle up the animals legs I think. That might work on a drone too.

Not in Texas!!

Every time this question comes up someone sites a law saying how much trouble you will be in. If it is a government drone, you’ll be in big trouble.

For those that are interested.......that is a Carl Gustav 84mm, also known as a MAAWS.

I have shot quite a lot of rounds out of those......and they were a Beast of a thing........very effective. Just about everyone who shot one, fell in love with them.

It is about the closest thing to artillery you can carry around.

The triangular/conical shaped Back Blast Danger Area (BBDA) behind the shooter is about 50 yards long and about 40 yards wide at the furthest distance.

That made them challenging to shoot prone (ie lying down) without destroying the bottom half of your pants.......we learnt to fire them with your legs sort of swung out to the side.
