Yes, off topic.

I need to edit some videos. Cut/splice/combine a few things. I don't need anything professional, and free would be about the right price. Running windows 10. Searching online I get all the promoted stuff. Rather, I thought some friends here might offer some genuine advice. Thanks in advance.
 
I really like youtube movie maker. It's not ON youtube the site, you have to download it. The free version doesn't do everything, but it does plenty. You can add effects, type words right on the screen and then choose to scroll them or fade. Edit multiple soundtracks.

Nice part for me is that I don't have to use all the functions. I figured it out in about an hour or so, to get it to do what I wanted.

Mine is set up to upload vids directly to youtube, I don't even need to do anything. I hit upload, and next time I go to my youtube channel, there it is, in the queue.
