Golden Earring...RADAR LOVE ( 1973 )

I've been drivin' all night, my hand's wet on the wheel
There's a voice in my head that drives my heel
My baby called, said she needs me here
It's half past four and I'm shifting gears
When she gets lonely and the longing gets too much

She sends a cable comin' in from above
Don't need to talk at all
We got a thing that's called radar love
We got a wave in the air
Radar love

Radio's playing some forgotten song
Brenda Lee is comin' on strong
The road has got me hypnotized
I'm spinnin' into a new sunrise
When I get lonely and I'm sure I've had enough
She sends a comfort coming in from above
Don't need a letter at all

No more speed I'm almost there
Gotta keep cool, now, gotta take care
Last car to pass, here I go
And the line of clouds goes down real slow

And the radio plays some forgotten song
Brenda Lee is coming on strong
And the newsman sang his same song
One more radar lover gone

We got a thing that's called radar love

.

We had 4 guitars going at Thanksgiving, first time hubby and his brother played together in years. SIL and granddaughters hubby. All their fingers were sore from not playing for so long.
Hubby sang the one below and a couple more.

Reminds me of my MIL, this was one of her favs.

I agree Spike. GG &HT is an awesome song. Outlaws were a really good group, just not overall as popular on the radio.
Hughie played with The more recent version of Skynard for a period before he died to. I always enjoyed his picking.

I really like Rogers an Hammerstein songs and sound tracts.

George M. Cohan song, James Cagney one of the greatest dancer's .

For some reason I remember the first time I ever heard this song. In summer of 1985 I was driving a 359 Pete & had just pulled out onto South Union Blvd in Bakersfield, heading for Hwy 99 North, & it came on the radio. I recall thinking "Jeeze, this guy really nailed it". Funny I can't remember where I left my glasses, but that one's clear as a bell.
