Hey VJ, are you moved in yet or do we have to get rid of someone for you?
1. The nursing home has backed water, saying I can't keep MY OWN doctors, have to go with THEIRS....told them "No can do." I've been with these doctors for three years now, and they have shrunk the tumor by 50% with their treatments, and I like them. Don't have a clue what the nursing home doctors would do.
2. So then they switched me to getting into a "Group Home." Told them I'm
ALREADY IN a "group home," and it's called an "Assisted Living Center," and I have my own apartment.
MY doctor (the oncologist) says OK, he will have his nurse get with the ALC Dietician/Nutritionist and set up a four meal a day high calorie/high protein meal schedule and work out the menus. As of right now, I'm not going ANYWHERE, and I don't see ANYTHING that could be done in either a nursing home, or group home, that can't be done right where I am. My Rheumatologist wants me to take hydrotherapy for my lower back, hips, knees and feet, and I said, fine, they have a fitness room here that has whirlpools, there's your hydrotherapy. My pulmonary specialist says he wants me on oxygen therapy, and I said, fine, I'll buy a portable oxygen generator and you can tell me how/when you want me to use it. Like I said, whatever needs to be done, I can do it RIGHT HERE.....why move anywhere??
So I'll see what pops up next!! I'm perfectly satisfied with right where I am. At first, I kind of thought, well, maybe they know best and I should be in a nursing home, then the nursing home said I couldn't have my own doctors. Then the social worker came up with the "group home" thing....but to my way of thinking that's a step BACKWARD! I'm already
IN a group setting, I just have my own apartment.
Plus, I'm already settled in here, can have my air rifles/pistols, made some new friends, etc., etc. If I have anything to say about it, I'll be staying right here.
Now to go WAAAAY off the subject....
BTW: I think this will be my next purchase -
