Woke up at 10am this morning to a tornado warning, we never have those! :oops:
Then the the bottom fell out and we got .62" of a downpour in 20 minutes.
Now the sun is shining...
Go figure.:rolleyes:

Sara is the next name on the list of tropical storms for the 2024 Atlantic Hurricane season after Rafael.

Heat wave. 15 to 20 degrees above normal. It was 45 f abve today.

Temps here are in the high 50's low 60's. Supposed to be clear for the next couple of days, but we are preparing for flooding. Probably won't affect us too much. Just have to go a different way to get into town, but all services should be unaffected. Towns North and West of us will get the worst of it. If you look at Snowman's map that band that runs from Houston to Chicago is the troublemaker.

Ok, I've said bad things about weathermen in the past. Stuff like them being wrong 4 times in a row. I didn't know they were saving the water for the 5th time. I emptied water barrels here today & cleaned my run off trench for "just in case". Thank God I did!!! It's raining so hard that my main water barrel is pouring water off of it & it's connected to 2 drain hoses to other barrels. Water is standing 5 inches from my door which usually just drains off, it's coming down that hard. I even pulled out the screen on my first water barrel in case it was clogged, nope it's coming down that hard. We got a real Texas downpour going on here & there's even a little hail. I thought that I was being dumb for the prep (just in case) work that I did today. If I hadn't done that I'm pretty sure that I would have water in the house right now. WoW!!!-

All the rain you missed has finally caught up ...all at once! Flood watch out your way! We had a good non severe storm earlier with 1/2" of rain! Heavy stuff on the way!!

I saw that they are projecting rain for hours more. Crazy! No rain for months & months & then all hell breaks loose. It's going to be an interesting nights. And I didn't "drain" my back water barrels. they are only connected in parallel & don't drain near at fast. At least if they flood, & they probably will because they drain from a lot larger area, they won't flood any doorways.
