A very FEW miles from my Cabin current condition. I am not at the cabin. As the crow flies, I am about 35 miles from cabin. Here clear blue skies and 46 above, green grass.

Seward Highway is closed and your picture shows why. They just closed Thompson Pass a few minutes ago, so no escaping in any direction. Also forecast just got updated and now it’s 12-24 inches over the next 8 hours and winds of 75 MPH. It is coming down hard and sideways!

This is a picture of Belanger Pass that I live near the top of. It’s shut down as well. A neighbor just sent this to me. We had a couple gusts above 90 mph. Almost no wind now and it’s snowed almost a foot in the last 2 hours and it’s not slowing down.

We got heavy rain and mid 40's last night. They are calling for the same overnight tonight, plus 35 to 45 MPH wind. Normal winter weather returns later this week.

Well, that was the weirdest weather event I ever experienced. I went to bed last night to clear skies with no wind. Woke up to the lightest of flurries. About noon the winds hit hard and for us they hit up to 90 MPH, then the snow came and the wind faded fast. The worst of the wind event lasted maybe 40 minutes. In about 4 hours we got over 24 inches of wet snow. Now the moon is out with clears skies, and not a hint of wind. Anchorage, about 4 hours from us, got winds up to 110 MPH.

Since I just got in after spending 10 hours dealing with the event, this is what hit us. Hurricanes in Alaska don’t get names. According to the post I pulled this from, the size of the storm was about the distance from California to Virginia.

From what I've been reading, @Alaskajohn , there will be more of these storms! Guess the La Nina is fueling them! Weird weather everywhere this winter!! Keep us updated on anything else that hits you please!!

Well, it was supposed to be around 20° overnight, it's 32°! Cooler today, high 40's only! Sunny.

Here in S/W Arizona, 116 - 118 degrees days are common.. Last night our overnight low was 34.

Lovely 8 degrees this morning. Had to tell little granddaughter, yes...you have to wear at least a light jacket outside to wait for the bus. What is it with young teens and no jacket?

43f above, full moon, rain has stopped. Repots of flooding in some locations, but not here.

The clouds are breaking up some. We may see the sun today. Yesterday's high was 27 degs. Really mild temps for this time of year, and not nearly as much snow as usual.

50's f yesterday, last of the snow melted. 50's today, tomorrow and the next. Low's in the 30's. I use a lp space heater for 950sqft. I only had one brick lit during the entire arctic blast. Yesterday and today I had to turn if off in the afternoons.

I do have a little ceramic heater in the bathroom with a built in thermostat. That room is furtherest from the space heater. I keep it on the lowest setting. It's been off all day today.
