Do you know how gators and crocs survive the cold and freezing temps? I do.

I'll bite, how do they survive since they are cold blooded,, but they must have something going on as long as they have been around this earth. Haven't the current form of crocks been around for 83.5 million years?

Crocs and gators stick their snots in the air to breath while the water freezes around them. They can't do that forever but they can do that for awhile.

Was 17 deg this morning with a high of 51. Was clear and sunny with a breeze.

It warmed up today with a low of just 37 at 07:00

The weather guessers can't make up their minds. First they were saying in Dec that we would have a warm winter through March. Then at the beginning of this month they switched to it being colder and now at the end of the month they are back to predicting warmth.

it's finally NOT freezing during the day!! I actually put my citrus plants out in the greenhouse so they get some sun today and covered them well with blankets for overnight. They were starting to lose leaves despite growlight

There is rain supposed to be coming this week sometime, I hope it washes all the ice away

Reptiles, snakes, etc. I've always understood that their metabolism/heartrate slows down - - they're cold blooded & can't maintain their body temp like mammals - - strikingly, the moment it warms up...so do they. My yard dog figured it out - - so he's okay. (LOL)

Never got out of the 40's today. Windy, overcast, high humidity, felt chilly. Down to 30f tonight. Sunny tomorrow but temps never get out of the 30's. It'll feel decent if the wind dies down.

I hope this above freezing weather doesn't last for too long. It will melt what little snow we already have. Snow is needed to insulate septic systems. Yesterday on Facebook, several people in our neck of the woods complained about having frozen septic systems.

If one has been paying any attention to anyone's Weather besides their own, One would see plenty of teens and low single digits already this year...!!! Maybe Hoping for More Snow and Cold will help with Your Water Shortage coming up as it isn't falling down...!!
