Well everyone, please excuse me. A task has been given to me and I must comply. I’ll be away from this thread for a couple of hours. I have to go into town and have lunch at one of those charming little Mexican cantinas. You all know the kind with the private patio where you sit in the sun. It’s a dirty job, but someone has to do it. I prefer to sacrifice myself so the rest of you can stay home and enjoy your fireplaces. Don’t think for a moment that just because I’m wearing a tee shirt, sitting in the warm sun and drinking slushy margaritas, that I’ve forgotten all of you…I’ll be with you in sprit. As Bill Clinton said…”I feel your pain”. I’ll do my best to stay strong for all of you…pray for me.

The long range weather does look like the the cold has gone from East to West and it will take about two weeks for the cold to move further West. It is interesting that my two weather apps one from Microsoft and one from the Farmer's Almanac shows winter in February warmer than normal. Apparently February in my neck of the woods never got the memo about the warmer weather.Thank goodness the pattern has shifted and the north is getting winter!! Y'all keep that stuff, we don't want it down here!!
Yup. I use to cut gem stones and went to Tucson AZ in January and February for the world's largest gem show. The locals were wearing down coats and jackets complaining how cold it was and the temps were between 70 and 75. My friend and I were wearing T-shirts and shorts complaining how warm it was.
-4 right now. Well have to go out and shovel snow and start the rig.

It's been snowing hard since early morning here. The temp is much warmer than normal too. It was 31 this morning and it's still 31.

My big snow plow is now completely covered in snow. I think I know about where it is. I'll work on that tomorrow. Right now I'm going up to dig out the chimney on the fur shed. It's completely buried in snow.
Yippie!!!!! My lawn care guy just came by and said he can snow blow my driveway and clean off my car for a cheap price. Now I don't have to do it. Nothing like being a Ferengi with a little gold-pressed latinum to spare.

The deluge continues here. It's fascinating to look around and see just how much water has come from the sky the last few days.
I like my Honda CR-V. It's a 2013 that I bought brand new in October 2012. I have changed batteries every 5 years or so. I did not plug the rig in last night went out about 13:30 and she popped right off. -7 right now.

I used to have some friends who attended that show. He’s now passed and she’s in rough shape but hanging on.
My super warm carhart puffy gortex winter gloves are not warm enough....thank goodness for mittens.

It stopped snowing last night and warmed up enough above freezing for the snow frozen to my car to soften enough for me to get it off the car and get the doors open. Yay!
A few years ago I went a couple of times with another buyer to the Tucson Gem and Mineral show in Jan/Feb and I loved it, it was delightful. The temps were around 75 in the afternoons and down into the mid-60's during the nights. It was perfect for me. But it was very dry and there was a lot of static electricity everywhere zapping people and I didn't like that. Both times I went was as you say, quite a few locals were dressed in warm clothes like long pants, long sleeves, sometimes topped with windbreakers or cardigans (no down jackets that I saw though). But people who were visiting there from the north and from Europe and China were mostly dressed in just shorts, T-shirts and sandals.
