@Pearl this is kinda scary! @Jen I heard a forecast before bed, the guy said tornadoes could develop very suddenly.
Hearing continual thunder, freaky. Sirens. Okay, it is definitely here. 😫
Yeah. This early in the season tornadoes just form, lower, then go back up. It's so quick they can't really tell us in advance when or where it will happen. The tornadoes, though, are small and probably wouldn't do huge damage. And I am NOT going to sit around in my safe spot all night. So there's that.

I stayed up until the threat was low enough and it was okay.

Lost a good hunk of the Hackberry tree behind the house!! It was loud! There is a taller Hackberry behind it that is splitting in two with each crazy wind gust. It will go shortly!! It does seem like the dust isn't as thick as earlier!! Hope everyone is safe who is dealing with bad weather!!

Power just came back on 15 minutes ago! Went off at 5am in the middle of a tornado watch. No power for 10 hours. Thank gawd it was warm out.

30 mph winds and gusts of 75 mph!!! It was a crazy night. Teeming rain, a couple small hail stones, thunder, mega lightning, and horrific howling winds.

Even now 30 mph wind and 75 mph gusts!

My backyard neighbor lost over a dozen shingles from their roof ... they went into his pool!!! So he was fishing them out for about an hour this morning (I heard him cursing loudly while doing it!!!)

It's absolutely crazy!! I'm really surprised we haven't had more damage!! Our co op electric company has been great about getting the power restored. I'll be glad to see this wind stop!!

45 F here, a bit drizzly today but it was sunny yesterday and supposed to be nice again tomorrow.

But today I was reading the weather forecast for the next 2 weeks ahead and they were warning that the polar vortex over the Arctic is collapsing again and because of that the jet stream will likely be bringing down more icy, snowy weather conditions to most of North America again starting around mid March. Now I'm thinking I'll hold off until the end of March to put seeds in the ground.

Not my area, but hearing many reports of how fast these fires are popping up and spreading!!🙁 ......... snip .........
If you want to see at a glance where all the fires in North America are you can click on the map below. I've found it to be quite accurate. Use the wheel on your mouse to zoom in or out to get an exact fix on their locations and how many there are and how much area they each cover. It appears the southern and eastern parts of the lower 48 are being hardest hit right now.
