Today is our wedding anniversary. I sous vide some top sirloin steaks then seared them in a screamin’ hot pan with butter. Corn on the cob and roasted beet chunks.

Never ate dinner last night, so my steaks marinated overnight.

Cooked it all tonight ... the steaks were buttery soft after marinating all night.

Pork loin sliced in the middle with spinach dip slather in the center with provolone cheese.
Basket weave of bacon holding it back together, pinned with toothpicks, hickory smoked out on grill low and slow.
Homemade steak fries, lettuce salad made bok choy, iceberg, spinach, blueberries, chunks of blue cheese with vinegar and oil salad dressing, salt and pepper.
Ice tea.
Coffee later.

Anniversary dinner with the wife at a local steak house; big anniversary--we were not being cheap.

At the end, the waiter put a card on the table, indicating my parents had paid for the entire meal. Wait, what?????

Took us a while to figure out what was going on. Pleasant surprise!
