I am paying 91 cents per liter for 90.5 (US) Octane midrange, the lowest grade sold here on base. The locals pay 1.60 Euros for same (we are allowed to pay US taxes on fuel they must pay German taxes hence the difference) so approx 6 USD per gallon of midrange.
The price difference for premium is huge on base, even though the Octane difference is not. Premium which is 98 Euro Octane = 93.5 US Octane costs approx an extra 91 cents per gallon.

I'm glad you adopted my term for that stuff because it is very different than real gas.
I remember it was called 'gasohol' back during the 70's Arab Oil Embargo.
It was gonna save us all.
After it ate up the fuel systems of cars, it quickly became an obscene word, and got replaced by the name 'E-10'. Still the same thing.
Run the numbers in miles/dollar, and you will find the 'more expensive' real gas is actually cheaper to run.

Math for my truck:
Crap gas: $2.39/gal. = 13 miles. 5.43 miles/dollar.
Real gas: $2.59/gal. = 15 miles. 5.79 miles/dollar.

Weather is supposed to get really bad this weekend, and frigid next week.Thanks for reminding me. I have to put a can of HEET in all of the cars. I made that mistake once, and now I am never without it (HEET).
