Put seed in the Bird feeder and told Me Southern Neighbor that I would Rake his cut grass Monday, leaving it where it laid after mowing so the Sun won't kill the cut grass in his backyard like it did in the frontyard... Got a "Thanks"... wooooooooo...!!! šŸ¤£

We washed our son's dog. The world is definitely a better smelling place now (at least after he dried).

Declaring our good works in public diminishes those works so .... I can say we did today what we should have done.

Ben

Growing up poor with only a pops, I have been the recipient of good deeds. And as the recipient I could not have given less than two ***** if the person who did the good deed bragged about it otherwise. They could have took out a radio ad claiming to be a Saint for all I cared. The only thing that was diminished was my need or needs. And in the end that is all that mattered.

So feel free to boast away. Whomever received your kindness won't care.

I have an 93 year old friend that I met at a restaurant, and have been friends with him for about the last 10 years. A few years back, I was asked to take him to the hospital for gall bladder surgery, and even cared for his wife, who had dementia, while he was having surgery. His wife has recently passed away, but he is still "chugging along", but doesn't get out much. We picked him up at his house and drove him to his favorite restaurant where we had some great laughs, and got to talk about his deceased wife, and the fun we had together. We spent two hours enjoying dinner, but none of us will forget it too soon. I didn't do it for any accolades. I didn't do it for a pat on my back. I did it because I hope to God if I was lucky enough to be that age, someone remembers me, and lets me go to dinner with them, because it is the right thing to do.
