Found a copy of Alas Babylon by Pat Frank under some debris in my junk room... Reading a few high points just to get current on current affairs.. That Russian port in Syria figures in on the start of festivities.
Due to someone asking about wood heated water I found out one of my books from the 70's might be worth some money....but it is worth a lot more to me.

Mother-in-law got me a new Kindle paperwhite for Christmas. My old one has been having issues with syncing and glitching. I prefer paper books overall but the the Kindle is fantastic for traveling.

I haven’t had a lot of reading time lately, but this morning I sat and read some poetry of Oliver W Holmes. They are enjoyable so far.
Putting the “yet to read” box of books on the shelf today, I kept thinking oh I need to read this . I best get busy.

Today I am going through my books to find the next one to read.

Yesterday I finally gave up on a book, ⅓ of the way through, because I was just too distant from the story. It was a fantasy by my all time favorite author who usually does action/adventure. He tried his hand at fantasy (which he used to write in the past) and I found it just wasn't for me. His writing is still exceptional, but the huge number of characters with weird names coming from places with even weirder names running around and doing weird things to fight off weird enemies just defied me keeping it all together. My brain was like a libtard after Trump's win. Lost. Defeated. Clueless about what is going on.

So I am searching my action/adventure genre books for my next read. I've got many to choose from. I'm thinking of trying a new author that I haven't read yet. But the old stand-bys that have always delivered in the past are fighting hard for my attention. Decisions, decisions.

Just started, Book 1 of Dixie Federation Preamble, but Annie Berdel. There's not a book 2 yet. Actually there's three of her books I'm waiting on Book 2 for.
