Has anyone watched Chernobyl Diaries on Netflix? There is so much conversation going on about the series now, amongst people who are not necessarily tin hat wearers. I am just starting to watch it. It is a fictionalized story. One person said that Russians are not happy about it, want it taken down. Another person said that it shows how Russia didn't do what they needed to do to maintain it and that is what caused the accident. They were being cheap. I don't know.

Nope. Haven't seen it or anything for months now. We don't have any form of tv except dvd's.

We just started the second Die Hard yesterday.
IMO one and two are the only ones good in the series

Didn't fall asleep until sometime after 1am, woke up at 4am.

I turned on the tv and saw something insane. Evidently there are a group of people who travel from country to country and hold "cliff diving" competitions.

The men dive from platforms 27 meters above the water, that's 88.58ft for us regular folk.
The women dive from platforms 21 meters above the water, that's 68.8ft...

I found a website that can calculate the rate at which an object falls.
The men hit the water at just over 51 miles per hour.
The women hit the water at just under 46 miles per hour.

No one dives in head first. They all hit the water feet first.

Both men and women cover their groins with both hands just before impact.

I'd be worried about more than my groin. A salt water enema at 46 mph and above can't be any fun at all.

These people are insane!

The things one see's on tv at 4am...

Watching the series, "Person of Interest" It's pretty good.

We really enjoyed it and watched every one of them.

This week we rented youtube old movie ' Point Break ' about surfer bank robbers dressed as presidents.
We also keep up with the couple on youtube ' Gone With The Wynns'. So far in past 4 years no agendas political or otherwise.

This is one about camera we will never spend that much on one but interesting. They also were helpful on buying our solar panels a few years ago.then they were in an motor home.

Also we watched this one even longer than The Wynns, but haven;t watched it much this year. It was about the hazards of the COG and the men who work on it.

A couple of years ago a new started airing on TNT named "Claws". The show is based around a nail salon. Everyone in this town is involved in some sort criminal activity and most are idiots. last season ended when one of the nail salon ladies got shot in the head. This season revealed her life was saved when her glass eye deflected the bullet.

I find the show absolutely hysterical. It's like a modern version of the 3 stooges with high heels and mini-skirts.

Strike that... the stooges are a bad analogy... The show is more like a modern dark twisted version of a mel brooks film...

Edited to add a bit more…

There is a second group of criminals in this town known as the Dixie Mafia. It’s run by a man called “Uncle Daddy”. He has two sons who aren’t his real sons. As children he took them in after he killed their dad years ago. The oldest is married to one of the nail salon ladies. The youngest was dating the ex-hooker nail salon lady with the glass eye. He’s now seeing the salon owner who helped the ex-hooker try to murder him… by shooting him and setting him adrift in a swamp on a burning boat. An insane artist found him, turned him into a sex slave before he was rescued by the nail salon ladies.

This show is extremely well written… never try to guess what’s going to happen next… its going to unpredictable and funny…

Oh, there is always a 3rd group of inept, imbecilic criminals trying to take over the first two… the basic premise of the show.

On tonight’s episode two Mormons showed up at the casino inherited by the nail salon owner. They were disguised as Hasidic Jews… too funny.

Australian dystopia films, similar in genre to Red Dawn, zombies and one alien invasion. New Zealand has a teenie bopper soap called Tribe, five seasons. Russians have a series of a dystopian virus not zombie, vampires, mob/gangster businessmen co-conspirators special genre. (Interesting and with subtitles.)

Queen of the South final season, Deadly Class, The Detour, Fear the Walking Dead, Science channel, Nat. Geo. channel and SyFy channel.

Stranger things 3 is being released soon. appears to be more comedy oriented.

Started recording a NAtional Geographic series, hour long each that cover different national parks around the country. First one I saw was about the Smoky Mountains Nat Park not to awful far from here. Right now looking at one on Redwood Nat Park. that one is super interesting.
