I just like plain ol Folgers made pretty strong in our Mr Coffee, and I drink it black.
We do have a barista on our counter, and I do sometimes grind beans and make a latte, but not too often. I think our kids, when they visit, use it more than I ever do.
!!!!!! Exactly. !!!!!

Hot. Not reheated. Caffeinated. Black. Medium roast of any decent arabica beans preferably but not a no go if there isn’t any other options. Nothing but the coffee, keep your creamers and sweet stuff away from the cup. I grew up drinking coffee from about the age of 7. I can go without it at any point without any kind of withdrawals, but I wouldn’t pass on a cup if offered.

I couldn't agree with you more. I want coffee coffee. Not the foo foo vanilla, carmel, jamoca almond fudge latte that is 50% whipped cream. If that is what you want go to an ice cream store. gaah

On a similar topic, last night, I used 2 cups of white vinegar, along with 12 cups of water, and cycled it twice thru our Cuisinart Drip coffee pot. I then cycled 2 loads of just plain water. The coffee does not taste bitter at all today. When is the last time anyone cleaned their coffee pot?

Also, once the vinegar cycled thru the coffee pot, I poured the vinegar solution down my bathroom sink drains and overflow catches. Now the sinks smell clean, fresh and flow really good!

When I was down here in the 80's, I got addicted to 4 cups of this stuff every morning.
When I moved back to Bama in '89, I kept the habit and had it shipped in, for the next 29 years, to give me my now 6 cups per day .
I rarely drink coffee now because I no longer work and love to take naps...
But when I do, it is always this stuff:
*Warning, this is highly addictive... but damgood!

...Loaded with a potent amount of caffeine, it will definitely get you butt off the launch-pad:D.

Not sure I have had the dark roast, but when I was living on the bayou, Community Coffee was all anyone drank. Everyone drank it. Never my favorite but Community was what I drank down there. As they say "when in Rome..."

Not necessarily my favorite, but this is typically my go to for cost/taste value:

Every week I must clean our coffee pots, extremely hard, awesome well water!! I pour the hot vinegar water in the animal's water bowls to descale them, and in the drains to clean them!

Try cold brewed. Never ever bitter, no oil, tastes "less cluttered". You can drink it hot or cold.

Folgers is what Fed Ex is bringing today.
Otherwise it's Black Rifle Company Just Black
Black Rifle Company is Veteran owned.
And trust me they know coffee.
Straight up black, strong.
I buy it all three ways, beans, ground and K-cup.
I like several of their varieties also. I think my favorites are Silencer Smooth and Flying Elk.

I find maxwell house dark roast to be the best that I have found, and it comes on sale often, which is a bonus. onecup melita pour over filter with boiling water, works as good as it gets at this altitude, Black or more often with heavy cream (keto )
perked is nice and gives a nice aroma but requires too much supervision I also make "refined" cowboy coffee, using a filter clipped shut as a bag, but again too much supervision.

I've seen cold brew, but I thought it was only a cold drink?
I just microwave each cup before serving. Or I wall drink it cold.

I'm not really picky about the brand, as long as its a medium roast blend. I take it black mostly but occasionally I'll take some cream and sugar when I'm feeling the need for sweets. And I prefer making it with a french press, but I also got one of those fancy Keurig machines for when I'm feeling lazy :)

I have not tried cold brew, but the coffee brew bags are large & costly, about ten times the regular filter cost.

are you folks who drink gruond or beans or the k cups things buying any instant to stock up for long term since it lasts so much longer? years back i got some folgers ground in the small metal cans and set on shelf and kept in basement. after about 2 yrs or so it was no good which is why i started trying out dofferetn instant coffee types. iv heard a couple times that the coffee producing countries had 2 bad years in a row and to watch for price spikes and shortages. like anything else i guess.

I keep instant coffee in the freezer. I can make it on the wood stove if the power is out.

We keep ground coffee in the freezer, but the instant we don't keep for long term. We usually have one jar open and one in the pantry for a back up.

We often make Swedish egg coffee on the campfire. Mix ground coffee with an entire egg, shell and all. Bring the water to a boil, then throw the coffee/egg mixture into the pot. Boil for a few more minutes. Remove from heat, dump in a cup of cold water to settle the grounds. Delicious, very smooth, and never bitter.

Also a good time to make cold brew the night before & heat it on the stove.
Mother would make hoecake & eggs with bacon when the power was out.
We had all the eggs & milk we wanted & a freezer full of meat & vegetables.
But hoecake was easy & quick.

You break the egg & mix it with the grounds & throw the egg out with grinds.

Yes, the addition of the cup of cold water causes the egg and grounds to sink to the bottom of the pot. The grounds are all stuck together by the egg so they don't float around and get poured into your cup. When the coffee is gone all that is left are clumps of coffee grounds and egg shells. You don't even need a coffee pot to make Swedish Egg Coffee. You can make it in a sauce pan.

Cold brew, decaf, maybe with a splash of sugar-free vanilla or chocolate syrup.

Black is good, lattes are good. Hot coffee‘s good in cold weather, iced’s good in hot weather.

Husband is particular about his coffee, and since he works at home, we provide our own “break room”. So we get a locally-roasted brand that we both like. It’s expensive, but it’s worth it.
