Who knows? I bet some news agencies jump the gun and declare a winner and they may not be. There were elections that took months to determine who the winner was. One in the 1800's took four months to declare.
So hoping it doesn't take longer than a few days. We will see.

I think they're going to start right up in the known cities that got hit by Occupy Wallstreet, Black Lives Matter, and Antifa. Some cities have already called out the Natl Guard. But I bet they expect to be able to smash and burn like before and not really get called on it. And maybe the small towns that got dumped with tons of illegals. And some are paid rioters. Maybe they'll start up tomorrow, maybe the day after, and maybe not till the winner is announced.
If its like in past some smaller population states results start rolling in sooner than later and they will be first ones reporting. Smaller counties and cities but you will only see it on regional tv.

I saw on streaming that the news is already broadcasting 2024 elections. They need something to talk about
When the polls close on the West Coast. It should be when polls close in HI that they start reporting on the voting but AK & HI don’t really count.
Early voting reports that registered Republicans are voting early in greater numbers than dems. That is a reversal to previous elections where the dems tend to turn out better.
I am waiting nervously here in Australia to hear results I'd love to see Trump and the republicans regain power over Harris and the democrats if Harris gets in

The as the poles close some results will start being broadcast, but it usually takes a couple of hours after the poles close before enough of the votes are counted to project a "winner". The last poles close at 1 AM EST (5PM AEST), so I would say sometime tomorrow.... Then if there are technical issues (hanging chad) and the race is close, I'd look for it by Christmas.

To the best of my knowledge there is no "legal" time to start reporting, but to the media this is like the Super Bowl. There won't be anything else on the news. They will report all day. Don't the polls close at 7:00? So you have five different 7:00's across the country.
