I am not asking where anyone is at,,,the question is are you happy with your location

I am evaluating my location,I am surrounded by private property and every year I am invaded by out of town hunters, and I am to close to a nuclear target to suit me,so I am looking around, and I have found this property,,,,214 acres with a log cabin surrounded by national forest, the closest house is 1.5 miles thru the woods away,it is about as isolated as one can get,30 miles from a town with any size to it,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Really nice! I’m reasonably happy here, but am closer to a nuke plant than I like. As far as fitting the prepping bill I have water, farmable land, semi remote, etc. It would always be nice to upgrade, but not sure if I want the hassle of moving again. I have been thinking about a piece of property that I could put a small cabin on as a weekend retreat and bug out location. Right now I really don’t have a good plan if I had to pack up and leave in a hurry.

it is quite pricey ,,,,1/2 a mill,,,but can you really put a price tag on absolute privacy ?????????

It would be hard to find a better location than what I already have, we have our natural disaster concerns (volcanoes, earthquake and fires) no Military targets, no people other than family around me. The land is sustainable but short growing seasons though plenty of fishing, hunting, foraging and timber.

I'm happy with what I have though the problem is the direction of the state (politics, environmental policies, taxes) we have been looking for other property out of state such as Northern Idaho, Western Montana, parts of Utah, Northern Nevada like up around washoe county but Mt. Shasta in California is a concern given it's an active volcano that sits due West of washoe county. We were serious looking at property to buy in Idaho but we found a lien (2016 federal tax lien) was filed against it, satisfying the lien were more costly than the value of the property. We still looking...

I'm happy with where I am, 20 miles from town, nearest neighbor 5 miles, power 6 miles and 100% surrounded by National Forest. Nobody will ever build anywhere near our place. On the ranch we have timber, water (pond, well and springs) and good grazing for any livestock that we may want. We have great hunting and fishing on the property and in the area. The growing season is a little short and the winters can be a little harsh, but if it was any easier this area would be full of people. It suits me just fine here.

Looks like a beautiful home to me ghost.

I'm reading the description and then check out the pics. I'd say that's a little more than a log cabin.;) Very nice. Hard to put a price tag on peace and quiet if that is what you are looking for and can pull it off.

Yeah, I noticed that too, if that’s what they call a cabin I’d like to see what they call a mansion!

I just saw 10+ acres in Bledsoe County Tenn. for 20k. It had a drive to it and a creek. Pretty remote area, but the area is divided up into a lot of smaller parcels. I don’t know how many neighbors are around either. Just a little more in line with my budget. The only thing that is a must for me is a good natural water source. Without it I wouldn’t even consider looking. I really like mountains too, but even that is flexible.

That looks perfect GG. Looks big. Im on just over 100 acres in the Ozarks with natural gravity springs and 2 ponds, 4 acres of garden, 9 acres of hillside pasture, the rest mixed timber. All off grid, solor powered, satalite internet/TV and have celluler service if we use a booster antenna. 1400 sqft house with second floor loft, 1200sqft barn with loft, workshop with covered carport and 2 storage buildings one has a root celler. Chicken coop and goats shed. We have horses and a milk cow, but I would like to get some pigs. We use propane mostly for cooking, but also have a wood burning stove and fireplace. We are very happy with it. We still have a house in Louisianna that my parents live in and several rental properties. This will be my parents bugout location, we staying put.

your place sounds nice,,,the ad does not state the sq. footage but the house looks really big,it's far more than I need ,the draw for me is location and property size,,,,,you buy 214 acres and get another 2 or 3 thousand thrown in for free

I love my little house, 2100 sq ft. white vinyl with wrap around porch. 1300' borders Corps of Engineers lake property so I have a water source. 800' of road front. Which is a small road that dead ends at a boat ramp. We have 9 homes total on our road mostly seniors who pitch in and help each other. I own 5 acres but there are 100s of Corps property that are total wooded. So I have access to fish , Turkey, deer, etc if it comes to that. I would say yes, I am happy.

Sounds pretty nice, both as just a great place to live and for shtf.

My only bitch is that we have walnut trees that poisoned the soil so tomatoes are super hard to grow. Even in containers. I love tomatoes and can about 60 jars per year. I have to buy those at flea market. The green beans and squash flourish though. It' mostly just night shade veggies that the Juglone ruin.

You could grow tomatoes in pots pretty easily. Not much better than a fresh ripe tomatoe.
