If it weren't for the testing, getting it wouldn't be difficult, or expensive really.
The testing though, pretty much eliminates the possibility, so she's stuck either dealing with the nausea, or taking harsh anti-nausea meds that have other side effects with her other meds.

I think its worth it testing the results with Medical mariuana, specially the oil variant with is very effective and no side effects except being relaxed and painfree with makes you happy already, pain is terrible to live with?

I was the first perpper in my home, my husband didn't need too much convincing. I worked from the fact he like zombie movies and am slowly pushing him to more likely scenarios. Today he admitted a few gallons of water would be nice to have around. So, I plan to go out and spend $20 or so at Walmart in gallon water and rotate it as I go. Not at the same Walmart of course, I have 2 on the main street here. He still has this idea that we will be bugging out to nowhere in an intense long term apocalyptic scenario, which I deem unlikely (I'm thinking an EMP or less). So his idea is to only keep what we can carry as if we will bug-out the same day. We're still working on the plan, what can I say, but every couple is different.

My wife still thinks I'm crazy, however she does appreciate the pantry I've stocked up, and rarely not finding things she needs. Hell, sometimes I think I'm crazy too, just not for the prepping though :).

My wife still thinks I'm crazy and tells me we can live of banana's and coconut from her family's land but agrees with me the 3 month stock we have does help in living our normal lifestyle, but she does get worried when I look at one of our 8 cats to see witch one is ready for the barbeque? There's not much hunting animals where we are located and I know cats and dogs are eaten in Spain and other Asian countries, so as long as the cats keep producing every 10 weeks I have no worries yet? But we also have chickens and goats, so plenty variety? Starting rabbits soon ?

things are looking better, when it comes to my mom being on board.we just watched the last 30 to 35 minutes of a episode of doomsday preppers is on ngc..and because of it.mom and me just had a good lil conversation of things that could happen.and how people are liable to/could behave during diff situations..im not sure..but i think that she's slowly coming around to preparing for the worst..we also talked about different things that took place over the years.like the stock market crash of 1929.to looting that took place in Ferguson.among other situations.i also mentioned the saying.desperate people will do desperate things during desperate times..and she actullay took the time to listened to what i had to so about things.i also pointed out what a husband might, and /or will do for his family and children in very bad times.like what he's liable to do when it comes to putting food on table for them, when he normally wouldnt in times like now..

The life emergency bag in the truck (mentioned earlier in this thread) has helped get my kids on board somewhat. My wife and our ranch gal are firmly on board, so that's good at least. The kids are just a bit too city oriented to really get it yet. (though they do love the fresh eggs and fruit).

I agree, getting someone new on board is always a gratifying thing. It really amazes me that more people don't see the benefits of prepping, for so many reasons.

I typically point to what happened during Hurricane Katrina. It's a perfect example of how the right circumstances can easily revert people to anarchy, looting, etc, and the absence of law. It's easy to forget, as here, we haven't seen a major storm in years (which is odd enough), but that certainly could be our cities as well.

The only certainty in life is that things will change. We all tend to get complacent with our everyday life, and just expect everything to be alright. Katrina is a perfect example of how quickly our society with all its rules can break down. That was just one city/area that was affected, and look how long it took the govt to even start reacting. Just think how bad it would get with a national or even regional disaster.

I'm fortunate in that my wife is completely on board, even to the point that no matter what (potentially) off the wall thing I say we need to have or need to do, she 'almost always' says Do It!

Yes, I still get the 'side eye' from time to time :)

Yeah, me too....sometimes. Like, with the night vision device. ;)

well, mom is interested in getting some wise emergency foods.she saw their commercial on tv yesterday when it comes to a deal they have going.and here's what they have going on..

https://www.wisetvoffer.com/

Wise isn't bad and not really a bad deal Jim, though that's per person and you would need two of them for you and your Ma, also in reality that 112 servings is really 56 servings. Always divide the serving recommendation and that goes with any of these companies be it Augason Farms, Mountain House and Wise Foods... I hate being hungry after eating ;) Never the less that would be a good starter kit for y'all!

On our Augason Farms kit we paid $400 per 30-days for two, it will require 55-gal of water per 30 days just for the freeze dried food so keep the water requirement in the back of your mind. Sounds like your Mom is getting on-board :)

yeah,so true about the serving sizes..now try explaining that to my mom..LOL..but yet,in it's own way.thats no big deal, when it comes to her.on account, she's a small eater.i've seen 3 year old's eat more then her.lol
