The soldiers marching reminded me… I was at Great lakes naval school command just north of chicago, it was January. Being military we had to march to school… across the street!!!! The school was literally across the street from the barracks!!

We marched down the sidewalk to the corner in columns of 4. Just a half block, then turn 90 degrees while still marching in columns and cross the street! Looks cool when you do it right…

I remember laughing so hard one morning!!! It was a riot!!! The sidewalk was bad enough, a sheet of ice, a few guys fell before we got to the corner… But to turn 90 degrees while still marching in columns? 🤣

That morning the corner looked like a bar fight!!!! Guys falling, taking out other guys.. who took out more guys!!! Some guys were crawling on all 4’s to get across!!

That was me in a school bus this morning. A very slight drizzle on 8" of hard packed snow equals ice rink. It took me over an hour to get through a 15 minute run through a small native village. I had to try and stop a half block from the kids to be sure I didn't slide into them. They were falling on their azzes trying to reach the bus. I was so thankful when I got back to the road. The band had the bus route sanded for the pm run or I would have dropped them all at the gas station.

When you live in the north snow and ice isn't a big deal. It's the heat that gets us. My son has his heat turned up. I have to open the window to sleep. You will see a lot of homes that are heated with wood that have both the doors and windows open because it gets too hot in the house.

Some of it is not even funny cuz you know they got hurt BAD. But others, Yeah, I'm staying in until it thaws out around here which will be on Saturday. LOL
The video should called "Wildest Winter Falls".
Reminds me of the death of the show: "America's Funniest Home Videos".
When it started out, they had funny videos. Then they became possessed with 'falling down' videos...
Every video became just somebody falling down, that gets old quick.
They should have changed the name to: "American's Falling-down Home Videos" :(.

My mother had a nursing home (back roughly 60'ish years ago). It was two stories, with sleeping on the second floor. (now that is totally illegal). When someone passed in the night, she would call the coroner.

They would put the person in a body bag and drag them down the steps feet first.

Mother would turn the TV and radio up all the way. As the other guest knew what that sound was as the deceased persons head hit each step.

Like said, living in the north to far north my whole life, I have had a number of these same experiences.. Been there, done that...

What kind of got me was the number of people who didn't have the sense to put there d^mned phone in there pocket to have both hands empty.. And one d#umb a$$ in the wind on the ice going into a ...phone coma... to check it.. It seems people are there own worst enemy..
