This is a very important topic, 90% of wildfires can be prevented, mostly caused by arson and leaving a fire unattended. if there is a fire and you caused it, you could be responsible for equipment cost, manpower, state forest damages, and if firefighters get killed their funeral costs, if firefighters are injured or killed as a result of a fire you started, you will be charge with negligent homicide, if accidental, if it is arson, criminal homicide. you could destroy someones bug out place, or someones home, and what good is your bug out going to do you if you caught it on fire! remember to hot to touch, to hot to leave

The individual cost:
Engine: $1,500/ hour
Brush Unit: $1,000/ hour
Planes: $50,000-100,000 everytime used
Helicopter: $25,000-75,000/ use
Manpower: $4,500-6,000/ man
Dozer/ Tractor: $5,000/ use

Last summer, people in the West were putting rubber shoes on their horses before taking them out on the trails. Several small fires were started by the metal horseshoes striking rocks and throwing sparks into the dry brush.
