I have my take on wolves packs and it's not PC, we have 35 radio tracked wolves packs here in Washington not counting the untracked, we call them timber wolves here but officially known as gray wolves that get up to about 175-180lbs. I have no use for them, they are destructive to cattle and big game animals like elk and deer. The lethal control is a joke, if we lose our cattle to wolves then it becomes a bureaucratic mess but if the elk or deer population takes a loss then the bureaucrats waste no time using lethal control. Some of the ranchers will kill wolves on site never reporting it and that's fine with me!!

I don't have a problem with wolves. Don't have a problem with shooting or trapping them either. Fortunately my state allows both a hunting and trapping season on wolves. I've only seen one wolf on my ranch so far. In most places mountain lions kill more game than wolves, so do cars, trucks, trains and hard winters. The wolf debate is a touchy issue. Bottom line is they are here now and they aren't likely to be going away. Everyone with stock needs to do what they need to do protect their animals.

That's the problem here, they are protected, even killing our live stock by law we can't shoot them, they are protected by the USDA So we have to run through the hurdles to get anything done :-/

They need to practice SSS, Shoot, Shovel, Shut up. At least until your state quits pandering to the green weenies and opens a hunting and trapping season. That seems unlikely given that the communist Californians have taken over Washington.

Oh they do most of them anyway, lot of them have radio collars on them unfortunately, so killing them on one's property poses a risk, for the majority they are tracked far enough from the property as not to bring attention.

I have always admired the wolf,,,,,strong tough and fearless ,I wouldn't shoot one myself but they are far and few here in Arkansas,now if they were killing my livestock my feelings about them would change,,,,,

what I have to deal with is coyote's,,,they are brazen ,they will eat the dogs food right up on the front porch kill your chickens cats and small dogs,just about any small farm animal to them they are all a fine meal,,they will kill fawns and Turkeys,they can be hell on the rabbit population,they will kill a new born calf if the old cow gets to far away,,,each area has it's own set of problems

I think i'd like wolves, we don't have any in Devon, its the two legged animal I don't like.
