My property taxes actually went down a little. That's because the value of my dry land grazing dropped. I take advantage of both the forestry and agriculture tax breaks. My main concern is the lease payments that we make to the US Forest Service. Eventually they will make the payments more than we can afford. The forest service has already mentioned that they want our property. They have a "prescribed" burn scheduled for along 3 sides of our land. That's one way to get us off. Up until now it's been too wet to burn.
