I've made all my forges. I heat to non magnetic and quench in warm oil. Then I draw back temper in my wife's oven. Heat to 400 degrees for an hour then pull out and cool to the touch, then back in, then once again. I usually put the knife in spine down edge up. I have heard folks using a toaster oven instead of a regular oven. What brand of propane fueled forge would you recommend for a beginner blade maker?
Right now I am working with stock removal type blades but I need to annealing ,heat treat and tempering capacity.
I've kinda got hung up there.
