They are symbols showing how the bowl can be used safely (ie, microwave-safe, dishwasher-safe, oven-safe). If the symbol has a line through it, the bowl should not be used for that purpose.

(2) of the symbols have a line across them. The one in the middle is an oven, and has no line X'ing it out. The symbol on far right that is x'ed out looks like a stove top burner.

The symbol on far left that is X'ed out might be a symbol for dishwasher. It looks like a tiny bathtub.

The symbols on the bottom of a Pyrex bowl are typically a combination of the "Pyrex" brand name, a series of numbers representing the specific dish model and size, and sometimes a "CG" monogram which can be mistaken for a backwards dollar sign, all of which are used to identify the product and its manufacturing details; collectors often use these markings to date and identify rare Pyrex pieces.

Key points about Pyrex markings:
  • Numbers:
The most prominent symbols are usually a series of numbers that correspond to the specific Pyrex dish style and size.
  • "Pyrex" logo:
The word "Pyrex" itself will be stamped on the bottom, with older pieces often having uppercase "PYREX" while newer ones may use lowercase "pyrex".

  • "CG" monogram:
This is a common symbol on older Pyrex pieces, representing Corning Glass, the original manufacturer of Pyrex.
