My dad told me years ago that when he was a young boy he would go out in the woods with his grand mother picking plants and herbs. She was an old Cherokee injun woman that dad thought was a witch. He said that she made medicines from the herbs. I wish that she had written down the potions and medicines that she made, but dad said she couldn't read or write. She did chew tobacco and smoke a corn cob pipe though.
