Most of the women I dated were older than I.
I ask DW to marry me four times, she said not before collage or not yet.
Then I gave up & dated a woman five years older than I.
She ask me out & we went out a few times.
All the sudden DW was ready to settle down & have children.
It is amazing what a little completion can do.
If I had known this, it would have saved a lot of time.

I'm three years older than my wife. Four, if you are just looking at the years we were born in. But me being December, and her being January, it's actually about 3 years and two weeks difference. We've been married for 41-1/2 years now.

For the  I got, it's ok. Understand completely.
A 22 year age difference could raise some eyebrows initially. Especially if the older one dies 6 months later and the younger one inherits a fortune.
But in your case, it looks like you've been married for 23 or so years now, so any initial thoughts like the above have long since been debunked. I actually have several friends that are about 20 years older than me. Age differences seem to matter in high school - there, one year is considered a lifetime. But once you're out of high school, age differences tend to matter very little in my experience. My daughter, early 30's, has many friends in their mid 60's. And several in their early 20's. They do all kinds of stuff together. I went on several "dates" to (classical) concerts with my piano teacher who was 30 years my senior. Not as teacher-student, but as friends. We always had a great time.

My ex wife was a little over five years younger than me. But we didn't start dating until I was 31 and she was just short of turning 26. 5 years ain't much at that stage of life.

Since her, I've had dates with women up to four years older than me, and when I was about 47-48 I had a handful of dates with girls that were from their early 20s to about 30. I knew it wasn't going to be long term. They were just doing the "daddy" thing with someone older who had money to take them to nice places and such. It was fun while it lasted. 😉 I've started seeing a lady that's 50 and I'm 51, so we're right at the same stage in life and she has her stuff together. It's been nice so far...

I dated a woman I worked with once. We Got to know each other so we went out to supper a few time and ate together in the corporation's cafeteria. A woman came up to me and in a very snotty, scolding voice said, "You're twice her age!" I said, "She's 23 and I'm 46. You're right," and then walked away. That really pissed her off. And yes, that was the age difference.

True story

We plumbed a new house and we’re finished except for a European kitchen sink that was backorder 6 mths
I went back to install the sink.
I was under the sink when the wife came home. She was pissed off and yelling
Seems she just found out the house was not in her husbands name. Her husband was a good 30 years her senior
The husband was standing next to me and looked down as I peaked out from under the sink. He grinned and winked
Then told her. Do you think I am a fool?
What you do not know is that nothing. Cars, land, bank accounts is in my name it is all in my Brothers name and you are not getting a damn dime if it

I was under the sink rolling laughing and trying to be quite but could not pull it off
I crawled out and headed to the truck laughing with the wife cussing me and the husband out

I have an older aunt who owned a house in CA, she was divorced and had the house... She remarried an older guy who convinced her that they should move into a smaller house, so they sold the house, bought a smaller home and a boat. Then about 2 years later he walked off... Seems when they bought the new house it was in his son's name, boat too... She has lived like a popper ever since.... Your story just made me think that there are two sides to every story and that there are gold diggers of every sex....

Trust no one, question everything!
I loved my Mother, I would give her money if she needed it.
But If she wanted a loan, she would have to sign a paper like everyone else.

My parents put their house mortgage in both their names. When it was paid off they switched it to my mom's only. My dad was trying to protect my mom so when he passes the house is in her name and his gold-digging sister will not try to stake a claim on it.

Wife is +6, but she grew up and I never did. Someone has to be the adult.....
Interesting that you say this, I tell people that when I turned 40, I still didn't know what I wanted to be when I grew up and now at 81, I kind of got it figured out. My wife is 4 years younger and is just now getting some gray hair, people keep asking her if she dyes her hair, she never has.

I’m 55 and never once in my life new what I wanted to do.

Seems like he may have questioned why she was with him then. Not good for a relationship if one needs to question. There should be no doubt at all before you even commite to marriage. Hunny and I dated 8 1/2 yrs. He asked my Dad just a few months into dating for his permission. Hunny never told me this, but my Mom did. Of course< Dad LOVED my Hunny so gave permission, but I was the one who had to put the breaks on. We had both gotten out of bad marriages very recently and I did not want to go back down that road. Had to make sure I was making the RIGHT decision cause I was not willing to do this again.

My Mom's favorite child was my wife. She always liked my wife more than me or my brothers.
She was the daughter my Mom never had.
They got along like mother daughter from the first time they met.
Mom did her best to talk my wife into not marrying me. She said I would be nothing but trouble for her and the marriage would never last.
I reminded my Mom of that at our 40th anniversary. She replied we might make it after all. :)
In my young years Mom was partially correct but my wife stuck with me and I finally got my s*** together and we have been happy ever since. I did like to party hardy.
One other thing. We met in March, I proposed in May, I went to boot camp in June and we got married in September.
We were together about 3 months total before we got married.
We both just knew it was right.

First time I met my MIL was down at the beach at her cabin. Sis and I went down for a visit. She said to Hunny "I hope she's not sleeping over". 🤣 Not a chance. Once she got to know me, I did turn out to be her favorite DIL. In her final days, she came to live with us. We had so many heart to heart conversations. So many times she brought up the other. . . "She would never take as good care of me like you do". She was honestly such a wonderful woman that I will forever love and never forget. We had an agreement with his brother before Granny moved in that he and he wife would take her every few months to give us a break. It never happened.Brother said that she was too scared to have to take care of Granny and she didn't think she could do it. Granny was almost immobile, but she was less then 100lbs and no problem to help get around using a wheelchair. In fact we inherited many of her heirlooms, some furniture but mainly china. I got 4 boys and 4 sets of china. 3 from her, 1 set from her Mom, Great Mother and another from Great Mother's Mom.
