Probably one of our favorite Conventions, MegaCon is this weekend. Celeb guests include: Jeff Goldblum, Jason Momoa, Elijah Wood, Lucy Lawless (& Renee O'Connor), Karl Urban, Cary Elwes, and many, many more. Looking to add a lot more celebs to our wall gallery!

Can't wait to see the Solo movie all in Star Wars garb too. Will post some pics after the weekend! (we're just big geeks at heart).

If I still lived down there it would be a great place to go people watch!

Cary Elwes (Princess Bride, Robin Hood, etc.), Elijah Wood (Lord of the Rings), Chris Sarandon (Princess Bride), Billy Dee Williams (Star Wars), Paul Reubens (Pee Wee), Stephen Moyer (True Blood), Lucy Lawless (Xena), and Jennifer Morrison (Once Upon A Time). I'll have to get some other pics of others in costume from the wife, the photog. Here's a few more we did though.

That wasn’t rick?

Nope, Cecil Grimes, he's a cosplayer look alike. His crew also has a Darryl look alike, and an Abraham look alike, and usually a few guest Negan cosplayers. He has a little Walking Dead set for photo ops. We met Cecil back when he was just doing it for fun. Now, he makes money at Cons doing so. He REALLY looks just like him (from those couple of seasons).

The rest are the real deals.

You guys look good. Hard to believe Billy D Williams is 80! Nice costumes.

Thanks. I know right? (on Billy). He was a very nice guy too. Only experience that wasn't so hot....Jeff Goldblum. Basically just signs an autograph, no personalization or interaction at all. Oh well. I get that they can sometimes be rushed, but c'mon man.

Another we met, Amy Acker (you'd know her if you saw her), I just need to get the pics from my wife. She was a real sweetheart (and just beautiful). She flat out tells folks, look, I'm going to spend a couple minutes with everyone, so line may be slower, but I want to actually MEET ya... ;)

That’s nice to hear about Amy and disappointing about Jeff Goldblum, I really like him ☹️

Yeah, my wife is a big fan of Jeff too, so she took it kind of bad. There was a group of 3 gals (one of which we knew fairly well), who dressed up as the aliens from Earth Girls are Easy...very elaborate costumes...(one of his movies), and he likewise didn't say a word. I mean....c'mon....

Yeah, that’s not right. Why even bother agreeing to do Comic Con if you’re not even going to enjoy working directly with the public?

His publicist told him he had to.

Likely, but then again, some stars realize that THEY (not their handlers) call the shots. Amy was a good example. Since her appearance handling agency is Heroes for Hire, I'm quite sure they'd prefer she rush through it, but she simply put her foot down and said nope.

I've met many other A-listers that would at least personalize an auto. About the only other I remember not doing so, was Burt Reynolds (not A-list, true), but he's a much older guy, so I get that, and accept that. ;) I'm sure there's like one or two others that are slipping my mind.

Goldblum's shine has dulled lately as he mainly has been reprising supporting roles in sequels. I don't think he's thrilled about his current status, and I'm guessing he thinks doing these things are really beneath him.

He's no spring chicken, hehe... I've never really heard of him doing these Con appearances before much though, so wanted to get it while we still could. Sadly, the photo ops sold out very quickly, and before the Con even started (which is almost unheard of)...so we just got the autograph. Which is why I'm a bit miffed, as nearly the same price, so should have at least gotten a personalized sig. I'm not looking to sell his autographed pic or anything. We collect them for US...as our hobby.

Yeah, they did a fantastic job on recreating it. Apparently, it's a facility in GA, that is working on recreating all of the interior sets of the old show. I'll have to find the details for you.

Went to Tampa Bay ComicCon over the weekend. Got to meet Val Kilmer. He's in rough health these days, but still has a great sense of humor. I often don't have my staff in pics, especially with stars who are security heavy, but he saw it on the table, and just had to play with it, such a card.

Others included the Hound from Game of Thrones, Selina Kyle from Gotham, the Sheriff and Will from Stranger Things.

(pic uploader seems to not be working (nor can I get it in the gallery), so will try later).

Selena Kyle from Gotham (hair is clipped for a current role).

Copy and pasting the pics worked, go figure.....

Next Con we're going to is at the end of Sept. Hoping to get pics with Negan (Walking Dead), Bruce & Alfred (Gotham), Q, Troi, & Warf (Star Trek), and the Weasley Twins (Harry Potter). MegaCon in Tampa.

In Oct., hoping to get Scully & Moulder (X-Files), Elvira (actually in costume), and Kathy Najimy. Spooky Empire in Orlando.

I also got to meet Summer Glau (Firefly) and the Phelps brothers (Weasley twins from Harry Potter), but didn't get pics with them yet. They go to enough of these, to where I'm sure I'll see them again.

Man, the Dr. Who fanatics sure were in force. (the new Dr. was there....blanking on his name (edit: Peter Capaldi, as well as the gal who plays the Companion), as I never really got into it). Was weird seeing how long his line was, yet any of the Trek folks, you could chat with for quite a bit. I'd actually met John (Q) before. He got me into listening to radio plays (both old and new ones) years ago. If you never heard the original War of the Worlds for example, you're really missing out. (and fun to imagine how this must have sounded to folks back than....when they were used to getting news this way, etc.).

Next up, Spooky Empire convention in Orlando (end of Oct.). Can't wait! That one is always a lot of fun. As a huge X-Phile myself, it will just be cool to meet Mulder & Scully. Let alone Elvira herself. (and a pic in costume with her will be fantastic!)

They still tour, believe it or not. My wife and daughter saw them at the Strawberry Festival near here, just a couple years ago. Me? I only go there for the food. :D

Sometimes Gaz I think you're speaking in a foreign language. I don't recognize any of the names you mention. Almost none anyway.
Sounds like fun though.
