Coast Guard training in gnarly surf at SFs ocean beach caught on camera.
It looked like a nail-biting scene out of a Hollywood movie when monster waves tossed.

When enormous swells pound the California coast, the bravest surfers often grab the spotlight. But late last week at San Francisco’s Ocean Beach, with a building north swell.

A world traveler visits a "global museum".
Over these past few weeks, The Canadian Canoe Museum has enjoyed a far-too-brief visit from Will Meadows. A deserving recipient of the Watson Fellowship, Will is spending the year “pursuing his past.

Trivia question for the day: What is the difference between a boat and a ship?

Think Meerkat hit it, size and ship has commander, oops or Captain, boats can have anyone steering it, and you can't carry a ship on a boat either. :dunno:

12' Jon boat.
Made of fortiflex HDPE, this Jon boat is lightweight and durable. 12 foot long, it can easily fit in the back of a truck. Perfect for hunters or fishermen.

Somewhere I have a picture from the early 80's of my dad's friends boat, it was in good condition with the original inline 6 cylinder engines and it moved pretty good for a 33' cabin cruiser. But, he sold it in 86 to the current owners who had a total restoration + many improvements done over a 16 year period and this is how it looks now.

1957 Chris Craft Futura, I washed and polished and polished and washed this boat so many times as a kid I couldn't even guess the number. I remember sitting inside in it in the winter when it was covered with canvas on dry dock eating ice cream with Tom and my dad after a long day of rebuilding other wood boats. The memories will last a lifetime.
Here is a link to the advertisement, though with that price I think it is more for bragging rights than a desire to sell the boat.
https://www.yachtworld.com/boats/1957/chris-craft-33-futura-3523609/I am told the owners are top notch, down to earth people who love showing off their boat. I am hoping if I make it back to Michigan I can get a ride with me and my kids. It would be a blast to see what this Black Beauty can do with twin 454's.

What's the best canoe?

That looks light enough, just keep away from low branches and narrow paths.

The best canoe? My dads 1947 hand made wood/canvas canoe he bought new. Hoping to get some use out of that this summer too. It works well in the reservoirs here if it's not too windy. I wish Utah had a canoeable river nearby. I may need to take it on a road trip back to Michigan to enjoy the AuSable again.

Guess we all had one of those, at one time or another. Some folks get lucky though, and find a great deal or recieve a free boat, sometimes. :)
dancing chicken
It may have been free, but it will still cost money. I will need to register the boat and the trailer, after getting title in my name, and it will need at least one new battery to power the trolling motor. But, aside from that, it's sort of free.

Yep, they end up costing some, but you'll know what you have, and started out at great price. 👍
Prices of one which Dademoss spoke of, in terms of a money pit, happened to me only once but that one taught me a lesson. :)

Does look light, sounds like you have a good one too. Fishing out of them, I've never done it, but have seen some videos to where the fish pulled them around until they got tired. Was something else to watch.
I do hope you find the right place for your canoeing.
