I'd be more concerned about just getting out of LA. In a real disaster all roads leading out of LA will be blocked with millions of others trying to get out. Not to mention the military will probably block all roads too. But good luck.

This is troubling indeed. When I started looking into our freeway routes and off road. I realized we caged ourselves in.

You should add tool box.

We added, axe, hammer, sledgehammer, shovel, multitool, vise grips, pliers, Phillips, flathead. We need a socket set.

We also added 3 12 gallon marine tanks on the roof rack,a solar shower system, luggable loo, compass, salt and pepper, lots of hard candy lemonade mix, already packed in the truck.

Mark!!! be careful on the top loading, you change the stability of the entire vehicle in curves and by hill climbing. And do not forget that with the top load, many people do manage to drive into the garage with that bicycle, top kit or storage box and destroy it...you raise the entire heighth of the truck...

Added Dutch oven, cast iron skillet, going to add a rear bumper tire carrier with room for one of the 12 gallon marine tanks. The tire carrier will add 2 spare tires to the rig or a second 12 gallon marine tank where the tire under the rear bumper currently sits. Plus solar shower, luggable loo, potassium iodide tablets, water purification tablets two water filters, sleeping bags, chairs tents. Dry food.

All I need is a good crossbow for hunting. Any recommendations?

As Gary points out if your intent is to BUG OUT your intel and interfamily comms needs to be superb, because you have to be LONG GONE before the masses, and your family must know IMMEDIATELY that they must come home frrom school, work, shopping etc when they recieve their trigger word. And please dont forget that a vehicle heavily draped with extra equipment is only ever going to attract jelous / prying eyes, Part and parcel of being a sucessful prepper who opts to bug out is NOT BEING SEEN and NOT ADVERTISING your presence. Your essential kit should all fit INSIDE your vehicle.
