most of these places are too well known, they get into the newspapers on a"low news" day and everyone can see the pictures for themselves, they may be fortified and indeed safe, but they'll end up as someone tomb if they don't watch out.

being big and bold and thinking you need a fort is not the way to go...discretion and a good plan is way better.....that grounds keeper in his old clothes is one of those highly trained bodyguards.....the guy cleaning out the small barn and taking care of a few sheep is also one....that old barn also has a hidden gun/ammo locker...If you make yourself a target you will be one.....

That is the same line of reasoning as the "Gray Man Theory"

I like to question and look at things from many angles.....even if I had millions I would not buy or build something and be foolish enough to think I was good for whatever happened.....I would have several plans and hideaways in place......

As would most of us blue and white collar preppers, the silly rich can build a bunker in NYC and LA, buy an Island in the West Indies, A bug out mega yacht and a Bug Out Jetstream. We on the other hand can re-enforce a cellar or storm shelter, build a cabin in the boonies buy a inflatable and outboard or buy a used cheap Jeep Cherokee.

The current trend ( UK at least) is not to have a primary Bug OUT plan but to Bug IN and keep a much lesser reserve plan to bug out as a lastresort. Much of the UK and East Coast US is getting so damn crowded that last minute bugging out is just about a hopeless scenario as reported by survivalists from FLA during Hurricanes Andrew and Katrina. One wll noted case was the well established prepper who had his vehicle fully loaded , full fuel tanks plus four or five extra Jerry cans for his trip to some safe place, but the traffic was so intense he found himself crawling along at 5 MPH for so many hours he completely ran out of fuel just inside Georgia. more and more Urban survivalists and preppers are now putting time, effort and resources into staying put.

If I would have to bug out I would hope I could see that I should not wait until the masses figure it out....that is why I like to make people look harder at what they are doing and never assuming you are set.....which usually means failure....

how many bad scenarios do you see in that picture ? how many of those bad scenarios can the average prepper handle ? the traffic jam is a very bad situation to be in for anybody....things could get crazy in a moment.....and for those you spoke of who had extra gas, I bet that wakeup call of barely getting away from it made them do some serious thinking.......and looking at how ill prepared they were.....
