The problem is if the 'banished' person knows your stores, defenses, methods, etc, then they are a huge liability. They will go out, find the first big armed group they can find, and tell them everything about your group and what they can take from you. They will use information on your group to 'pay' for admission into the other group.

Banishment could mean the death penalty for them, or for you. I don't know how you avoid that problem.

what "armed groups"? maybe in America but not in the UK, the mortality rate will be so high and any survivors will be spread far apart, they will be dead within a couple of days of leaving the group, anyone that needs to be in a group isn't going to last long outside of it, that's why I said its a death sentence.
any person who transgresses the rules of the group should never have been accepted into the group in the first place, obviously the vetting procedure was deficient. or more likely non existent.
the way I avoid it is by not being a part of any group in the first place, I trust no one, now or then.
