I'd take the Cuda first, Charger 2nd. The 340 in the Cuda was one bad a$$ motor.

The 'Cuda at the bottom with the 340 wedge motor in it.
Way fewer of those roaming around and BP's point is true. Chrysler never made a 'lame' version of that motor.
Most people only had the small-block 318 or a big-block to choose from back then.
And those bald tires on the back of it ain't from no 318

.
That 340 wedge motor could kick any stock Chevy 350 in the butt.
Also if you're just bee-bopping around in a collector car, the 340 uses about half the gas of a 440

From a financial outlook none of those will be worth the money you have to invest to restore it.
If you really love a car then the financial cost is not important but there are very few cars that I "love". (and none of them are Chryslers or GMs)

Car is like a boat. They aren't purchased for financial reasons. Never worked for me. Just for the entertainment value.

Yep. I have had some cool cars in my time, but since then it has always been about getting me to work and back home again. I am still drawn too them, just have other priorities.

They could be and likely are.
If you wanted to turn a liquid asset into a 'hard' asset to protect it from vultures like the IRS, you wouldn't:
Buy stocks, bonds, CD's, gold, real-estate, or put it in a checking account.
Any of those can go poof in just one day.

You can't bury it and you can't burn it, so what to do?
Trying to get 100K back out of a collector car...hard. gaah

Super, you are right. I was referring to myself and not using cars to invest in. Some folks do. Ones with big money available probably do well with it. Same with old farm tractors that have been refurbed. It's amasing watching what some of them go for at auction. But my $$ don't stretch that far. :ghostly:
