According to the seller, this 1981 Trans Am Turbo was built by Schwartz Performance of Woodstock, Illinois at a cost of over $300,000. It took 2200 hours of build time, and sports an extensive list of upgrades, including a new underbody frame, an adjustable coil-over suspension, a roll cage, and of course, that engine.

It's a 6.9-liter LS9 iron block with forged internals that the seller claims puts 1040 horsepower to the wheels, or 1300 horsepower at the crank. It gets power to the ground via a Bowler 4L85E automatic transmission. It was featured on the cover of Car Craft, and according to the listing, is capable of 200-plus mph.

The outside has been customized with a sweet red "6.9" Firebird hood decal and color-matched Forgeline wheels, as well as a lowered stance and a custom exhaust. It looks wonderful from pretty much every angle, though I'm not sure how much I like the LED headlights. The inside gets a set of comfy-looking seats, four-point harnesses, and a nicely restored metal dashboard.

The car is currently listed on eBay with a Buy It Now Price of $160,000 or best offer. That's a whole lot for a Trans Am, we know, but considering the cost of the build and the amount of performance you're getting, we'd say that's not too crazy.
