'69 Plymouth Road Runner...

A formidable opponent!
And they were not 'rare' either!.
Look at the amount of weight over those back tires. Can you say "launch traction"?
You had to be careful what you put up against them or you'd be handing over your lunch-money quick:cry:.

That '67 Pontiac GTO gettin' hosed down by the pretty blonde ain't no daisy either...

.
Yep! And those were everywhere.
I did have the privilege of working on one of those Pontiac 400's.
My little brother had one of these 69's with a 400 4-bbl:

It had a lower gear rear axle than cars and with that big-block and tons of torque, he could nail it and easily toss you into the back seat:bigeyes:.
Had to change a cylinder-head on it because of a stripped sparkplug hole. I swear the intake manifold was 3-feet wide:eek:.

And I could add that I would not be alive today if not for it, but that's another long story:rolleyes:...

Long before George Lucas got famous making 'Star Wars', he made American Graffiti:

"The film is so minutely observed you realize that this is George Lucas’ own story. It’s what he did in Modesto those final nights before heading off to USC. He drove those cars. He chased those girls. He walked those streets."
Can't believe it's been that long ago until you look at young Richard Dreyfus and little Ronnie Howard.

And just guess who the young guy is that's driving the black car:eek:....
