Oooooh! We did too. I loved that car. Thanks for reminding me. I loved to lay in the rear window. There was an armrest that folded down from the middle of the back seat that I would sit on so I could look out. That and the Plymouth Sport Fury are the only cars that I care about my parents selling though the Willies would be nice to have.
 
I have a cousin who collects Mercury Cougars. He has 4 of them now, all restored, all different years and styles.

Here is a truckster for you. Jan, 1983. Funeral procession of legendary football coach Paul “Bear” Bryant.

I took the photos from the lawn of a house I was staying at. The building behind used to be the Alabama Power Offices.

At the time the procession was headed east on 10th street towards Denny Stadium.

It’s now Paul Bryant Drive and goes by Bryant Denny Stadium.

People lined streets and highways for 70 miles all the way to Birmingham... Man on the tv said there were over 400 cars in the procession. The bus led the procession... had players on board.
