Morgan I'm finding I can get a 5 pack, if I keep my eyes open for not much more than one or two here and there. But I agree, boxes hurt a bit.
Like you I'll spend a bit more for something I really like. Oliva Melanios are my costly stick. But I got a box of 10 of the Melanio 4x60 for $38.00. In the local shop those are 10-12 bucks each.

Here is tonight's feature. CAO BX3 Toro, 6x52. The BX series is a very flavorful cigar. Brazilian wrapper that gives a different taste thank many others.

The place I go has packages of four or five. I got a pack of Perdomo's, five different kinds, at a very reasonable price. This is the closest thing I could find on line,

Not a bad price. I have a 10th anniversary Perdiomo in my humidor. I smoked its mate last fall and just didn't care for it. Guess I need to try it again since its aged a few months. Came in a box of freebies I got.
I picked a 6 pack of Macanudo Black Insprado after your recommendation Been letting them sit for a few weeks after shipment. I think they were around $35. Looking forward to trying one. Do you getvthe gold or silver tinted band?

I get the silver tinted band. I find it has a very rich (almost chocolatey) flavor. We liked them from the first draw. We both lit up and our eyes met. We were both thinking "WOW. This is really good." Hope you enjoy it now that I have hyped it so much.

Well that rich, chocolatey flavor is one I find I enjoy in various cigars. I'm sure I'll enjoy it. The 6 pack I ordered had 2 of the gold tint bands in a rubusto size, 2 silvers in rubusto, and 2 sliver toro's.

Well I tried the Macanudo with the gold label. I noticed it didn't have Inspirado name on it. Looks the same, just without the name. So I'm not sure exactly what it is. But I think it is the Toro model.

Anywho, That thing was very well constructed and had a nice oily feel to the wrapper. Aroma and draw were really good as well. It had a huge volume of smoke both on the draw and while resting. The burn kept wanting to run. It was tasty, but not overwhelming. I liked it and looking forward to trying the silver labeled ones.

We are in the midst of a Summer storm, and we lost power for about an hour and a half. I took the opportunity to sit on the patio, and smoked a Don Raphel Vintage 2004. Not bad. Burned a little hot, but had a decent flavor. Not sure how long I have had it in my humidor, but it could have been a little dry. My fault. It burned evenly, and held a 2" ash consistently. I would try another one that might be fresher.

Here's a link. The Toro Connecticut was the one I had.

Not familiar with that brand, interesting.

I've mowed the last 2 days and usually smoke something then. Tuesday I had a Asylum Lobotomy Toro. It was cheap but not a bad smoke, not primo but good enough for mowing. Last night I had a Partagus Legend Toro. Much better stick, tons of smoke, wonderful flavor. Only downside I let it go out with about 1.5" to go, after relighting it was bitter as all get out. Not a hint of it before. Oh well it was good up to that point

We took in last night’s storm, enjoyed a Fumas with a vodka martini. When the cigar was done, we had a cigarillo and enjoyed the lightning and thunder. Makes for a great night
I'm thinking an Ozark hillbilly vodka martini is McCormick vodka in a juice glass...maybe on the rocks? ;)

Don't take that personally...I'd be happy to have one with you. I might bring some olives, though. :)

Actually, many years ago, I once spent a long hot night in Texas with a friend from St. Petersburg, Russia, alternating vodka neat, then a casual glass of ice water, then a vodka neat, then a glass of water...keep repeating until you get in trouble with your wife. I talk to that friend every 5-10 years, and he always starts off by asking if my wife is still mad at him. 🍸:)

[Perhaps I should add: He's been a US resident & citizen for a long time now.]

I need to order some good cigars. For many years I smoked only Cuban cigars, but I may not have access to them any more. A few years ago I ordered some decent cigars from Cuban Lous.
Whenever I drive through the reservation I pick up a couple boxes of AL Capones cognac flavor. They're a good cheap quick smoke.

Being completely honest, it was Svedka (although I do have two bottles of Russian stock on hand that were acquired in that country many years ago).

You caught me, I don’t do a neat martini. I add two oversized olives, a bit of olive juice, a peppercinni and some Tony’s and enjoy. I like the added salt and spice in the drink. My blood pressure seems to hate it, but I love it.

Technically this would be a dirty martini. The dirty part being the olive juice. Neat is a straight pour from the bottle into the glass: No ice, No mixers, straight liquor.

No problem. Call it what you want. As long as you enjoy it that is all that matters.

True on the dirty part. I was never one to take vodka straight. I also never do a gin martini as that makes me want to fight.

Well Morgan guess what I had tonight. Yep Macaduno Inspirado Black Rubusto size. This one blew the gold banded one away. Rick creamy smoke, great flavor. Only complaint was a little tight draw. But even that wasn't bad, just first third before it opened up. I will be getting more of these

I'm still trying to figure out gin. Any recommendations on a good gin?

Tanqueray is probably the best, but Beefeater and Bombay are also very good. I also stopped drinking gin a long time ago, but my wife's drink of choice is Gin & Tonic, so we always have it in the house.

Went to the Cigar Box today. Had a Perdomo Habano Bourbon Barrel-aged. Really nice smoke, just a hint of pepper. Topped it off with a Perdomo Lot 23. I think that may be my favorite right now. Really enjoyed it as well.

Morgan, and anyone else interested.

Cigars International.com is running a sale right now. One thing that caught my eye was a 5 pack, or a box of Macaduno Inspirado Black I think are the 4x46 size on sale for about $15.00. At 3 bucks each i think that's a hell of a deal

That is a great deal. I will definitely pick some up. Thanks for the tip.
