No effing way will I ever eat bugs or canned slime. If other people want to good for them.

I get the BBQ crickets when I go to a local theme park. They actually aren't bad, but typically, I'm getting them more for shock value.

Insects may not be the most appetizing, but one of these days, they will feed the 3rd world. They are an easy way to resolve world hunger, if folks were more open about it.

There has definitely been a shift with the insects around here. A lot of people working high demand jobs have been shifting from the protein powder with ingredients that they have never heard of to just plain cricket powder from the store. Never tried it myself but sounds like it works just as good as the other stuff.

BBQ, well that's different. Almost anything can be eaten if it's BBQ'd.
I can't figure out why there's so much interest in some people wanting to feed the third world. I guess it's just another case of following the money.

Really more of a dry roasted, with BBQ seasoning...like BBQ sunflower seeds

No doubt you are right, though I do believe some honestly do look for some low cost solutions that will benefit humanity. Of course, who then ultimately owns the fruit of such labors....well, that is when the money comes into play.

Over the last 50 years or so the US taxpayer has sent trillions of dollars to third world countries. And guess what? They are still third world countries. They are starving and yet they are still breeding like rats. All of that money has been wasted. How about we worry about ourselves and let the third world go to hell. They already have plenty of their own bugs to eat.

I have no interest in feeding the world. There's already too many people on the planet. People in third world countries breed like rats. And thanks to modern medicine and the dogooders who want to feed them, their offspring live to breed too. The US taxpayer shouldn't be feeding the rats. Let nature takes its course.

I'm chuckling... and I get accused of being cold and heartless?

I think if a billion people stood up for themselves and actually went to work instead of fighting each other over sand or other such nonsense, there would be no hunger problems, no poverty, none of that. For the most part people get what they work (or don't work) for and indirectly what they deserve. Africans are starving because their tribes are constantly trying to kill each other. Indians with 8 children are starving while cattle walk the countryside. There is no way to 'fix' these problems. It's like the homeless guy who wins the lotto, parties it up for 3 years and is broke and homeless again. Did it really make a difference?

But AD has a great point. To each their own. And to a degree, I think Trump is doing this. The other day I read where he's withholding another $300 or $400 million from Pakistan because they aren't really putting in the effort to fight terrorism. Good. Actions have consequences. I can't imagine any gutless past presidents with the guts to do this. Reagan for sure, but few others.
