Counting Crows

The last few days I have been observing the crow population here in the burbs. There are a lot of them! Doing some research they are hunted and states have a crow season. Farmers consider crows nuisance animals because they eat everything in sight. And yes,people actually eat crow! LOL. Say it tastes like duck. Not that hard to bring down with a good shotgun load. Anyone for some crow?

My neighbor says to take one (dead) and put it up in her garden. Supposed to keep the other crows away.

I've got Wood Pigeons in my area not Crows.

I've got two crows that visit my backyard daily. They used to steal my eggs. I considered killing them but instead got them addicted to goldfish crackers.
They no longer go after my eggs, they don't bother anything else in the garden and they keep the hawks away.
I like having them around as long as they behave.

Crows are some of the most intelligent non-human animals on the planet. Probably more intelligent that some many humans, LOL.


And for some reason, both ravens and crows just LOVE to play in the snow - sledding, rolling around in the snow, and making snowballs!

I love watching the wood pigeons on our feeding station every morning, they are so comical.
plenty of them everywhere we go in our area, even if food is scarce post SHTF we wont starve, if you know what I mean.

We dont have any crows here, instead we have ravens. They're much bigger than crows. So far they haven't bothered me so I leave them alone.

Seven gray squirrels at my bird feeder this morning. They owe me. Lots of doves too. If times get tough..............

I've killed both in the back yard with a BB pistol.
