diet starting today

Theres always reasons to bake and eat cake...monday,tuesday,wednesday,thursday etc. then theres breakfast,lunch and supper and snacks in between and who could forget second breakfast... @Pearl knows that one for sure... she is from the shire !

be sure and bake me some onion sourdough..we all just eat and be merry !

yesterday was national popcorn day ...since i am emperor of barsoom i moved it to today...lol...afternoon matinee starts at 4pm

week 31 day 2

well the cake is gone, imagine that LOL, I had only 2 slices. It was a layer of pastry dough, a layer of peaches, a layer of vanille pudding cooked with the peach juice and a layer of meringue with sour cream
Sounds weird but was very good. The pudding layer was a little too soft

today bean and ham soup, great northern beans ( why are the called that?? They are very small, nothing "great" )
plus pizza

Elkhound LOL I don't eat breakfast or supper or snacks, or even popcorn ! Just a few pieces of cake here and there . If I ate all those meals I would probably be 50 lbs overweight not 10 !!

well...yesterdays matinee was movie 'jungle cruise' with the rock and that blunt lady...it was a happy go luck adventure comedy...no popcorn was harmed in its viewing...nor cake....lol...a good time was had by me in its viewing...inside where its warm.

mini ice age...its called real winter....lord help us....yall thought i was being silly when i said come on april 1st...i wont tell you about snow storm in mid april on my 6 inch tall corn i had decided to plant once to see if i could sneak it in extra early..it turned black but regrew...it hit 13ft or 17ft...ears were 8ft off the ground..hickory cane corn...it was 87 or 88

I'm ready for some milder real winter. It's crazy when below zero is so bad and you have to be out in it, so when it's only 10 above it feels so much nicer. Or when the sun is out but it's not warm at all.
OK, realize it's the diet thread. But you guys are talking cake. I made banana choc chip bread and choc chip cookies and eating too much and really, really , really need to diet, but not in the mood to.

I started this thread mostly to keep track, and it's working. Overall I am around 10-15 lbs less ( changes daily a little) from when I started this, so that's good!
Plus I can go back and look at what I cooked

french food today, I am going to make french onion soup and coq au vin ( chicken with wine and asparagus, does not traditionally have asparagus in it but mushrooms, but I don't eat those) and rice

today schnitzel, sweet potatoes and broccoli
rice soup

And I was bad yesterday, I bought a cheap bag of walmart tortilla chips and had some yesterday evening. I was going to make nachos out of them, but they are too thin. It would be a soggy mess . I should have known better than to buy them grrrrrr , bag is only half full too . Man, walmart is sure making things more and more crappy! I will soon stop buying ANY great values stuff if this keeps up!!

done 2 miles...it hit 47f...i sweated...heat wave after what we been through here on barsoom.....wind feels like its coming off of ice and snow though....lol...out of the north for sure...more tomorrow hopefully.

I stopped buying those. I am now buying an Aldi blue corn organic tortilla chip, but they also have the same in multigrain. They hold up well, and I like the ingredients in them.

Chips are really not on my diet period LOL, ANY chips, I was just being stupid and bad . If I don't buy them, they are not here to eat them. And nachos is total junk anyway. Oh well, gone now, and not going to be replaced

some of our ice is melted in the road and now it's all mud , yuck
I took Otto for a short hike and almost slipped on the ice a few times, north side of the mountain has not melted one bit

yesterday was chili plus a box of jaffa cookies from Aldi ...

today Korean rice bowl ( ground goat, rice, carrot and cuke salad, cooked spinach)
not sure what soup , I like to have dumpling soup with this but have no dumpling skins to make any

And squirrel tastes nasty, had it once.

well i was getting pretty tired and ready to call it a day....wasnt going walking...but a little voice in my head said you recall the ice and snow and single digits last while and being cooped up...go you fat boy....so off i went...wasnt feeling it really...felt stiff.....done my distance...but it was so nice...it was 58f when i left the truck i just had to explore for hour and half...i am tired for real now....met a mutual friend out in wilds too....he was digging in creek gather rocks and such.....he might be grandson of earnest t. bass !

p.s. seen 4 deer and a squirrel and bunch of song birds. i see bushes shaking and rattling and up out of that mess came a beautiful red bird..sat on top of them dead poke berries for a bit so i could see him extra good and then flew off. recharge ya battery right there i tell ya...nerd out in the woods.

fettucine today with chicken and broccoli , vegetables soup

I made granola yesterday and had a bowl of yogurt with granola, that was really good. The granola has dried cherries, raisins, almonds and shredded coconut in it , plus oats of course

edit!! I am making sushi today, forgot I got salmon at the Aldi that I marinated last night
so no fettucine, that will be tomorrow

well it was overcast and rainy but i went hiked...it rained a bit on me but not bad at all...but it got super dark just after 3pm like it was nightfall....it was weird. anyways done my hike and seen 2 deer and when i got to river across it i seen a muskrat or young beaver going along shore up into a creek that flows into river...just seen it for a second...just a glimpse...before i could pull my monocular out and get a closer look...bunch of song birds working brushpiles and dead standing grasses,weeds etc.

coming home i got urge for chips...fought it though so won that battle...lol

been a weird week with lots of ups and downs but finished it on high side ...might hike tomorrow though

it's pouring here, started around 4 again , flood warning for low areas, good thing we are on a mountain.
SO...I am being bad, and baking something. Well, I made the dough for tomorrow. Chocolate coffee cake . It's a yeast dough sort of like cinnamon roll dough with chocolate in the middle. I'll take a photo if it turns out

Since Dad came home from the hospital and I moved in, I’ve lost 2 pounds. I need to keep that going. Reopened my LoseIt app and have started to log my food and nutrients again.

Made a couscous/chickpea salad—should last until Tuesday. Going to make chicken with sautéed spinach and rice for dinner.
